Iamgrey5:I don't understand the meaning of the above vacuous post. We are talking about internal party zoning system here and not ministerial post. Stop unnnecessary diversionary tactics. Now back to the point. Did PDP as the majority party not zone the Speaker position to SW in spirit of equity? Did APC zone the speaker position to SE in spirit of equity but instead lopsidedly zoned it to SW with already VP position in bag? Did Tinubu as SW ACN leader not liase with Tambuwal who was in PDP as of then to win the speaker position from SW PDP? If you claim SE PDP members voted for Tambuwal and were in connivance with Tambuwal and SW ACN to stop Mulikat emergence, can you post the result of the voting showing SE rep members voting for Tambuwal and not Mulikat? If APC zoned Speaker position to SE APC and Ekweremmadu out of need to be the biggest ranked position rallied SE PDP rep members to back a roque Northern APC speaker candidate to win the APC party zoning chosen SE APC rep member , then the SW would be right to mock SE and demand we go to Ekweremmadu and PDP to get our speaker position recovered. But that's not what happened in 2019. What happened was that SW influenced the APC central structure to eschew equity in allocation of NASS posts and took for themselves a portion that would have otherwise in the spirit of equity have been left for SE, seeing as SW already have VP position. Every one who isn't blinded by bias would see the injustice and wickedness the SW is promoting in the name of political sophistication, and would also see that SE APC exclusion from NASS, has not same undertone as SW PDP exclusion from NASS in 2011. While one (SE) APC exclusion was beyond it's control and orchestrated by the party lack of equity. The other (SW) PDP exclusion in 2011 was self inflicted, after the party (PDP) had zoned the position to the zone, only for Tinubu and SW APC to scuttle it. |

pazienza:I don't understand the above uncoordinated post but take a look at Tambwual own interview. If you are not driven by emotional sentiment; you will clearly see where Tambwual himself admitted that he tried to convince Tinubu about four different times until it was clear to Tinubu that ACN votes was never going to be sufficient to elect Mukinat as he already had majority of PDP, CPC and ANPP votes. @ Zoning Clearly nothing was zonned to any region if someone from another geopolitical zone from within thesame party still contrasted for the same position and got the backing of majority of his party members.support @ other positions. When the it was clear that Northwest was not going to back down for the Wast, why didn't the PDP zone the position of the deputy speaker to the west, why was it conveniently given to the South East? You must think the South west are really stupid. What the position of secretary to the federation? a position the president appoints What of top ministerial slots like ministry of petroleum, defense and co What of the central Bank? What of the Chief Judge of the federation? The PDP didn't deem it feat to appoint Yorubas into any of these aforementioned positions despite the fact they enjoyed a massive support from the Yorubas. @ zoning positions to the East in APC South East only has two senators and 3 0r 4 house of representatives from APC, you gave APC only 10% of your votes on two occasions. You practically marginalize anyone in southeast associated with the APC... How in the world do you expect them to zone offices to you? Unlike your case, Jonathan got nearly 70% of Yoruba votes and there were more than 5PDP senators and more than 20 house of representative members when we were marginalized. Please don't take South west for a fool. |

Iamgrey5: I don't understand the above uncoordinated post but take a look at Tambwual own interview. There is no empirical evidence to prove that Tambuwal would have still emerged without SW coordinated ACN support of Tambuwal. National assembly elections are usually full of intrigues and nothing is set on stone until the result is out. Tambuwal words mean nothing if you don't have pre NASS election stats to back this up. The PDP members backing Tambuwal were mainly PDP rebels like himself who were also being courted and wooed by Tinubu to join the APC being formed by union of PDP rebels, CPC, ANPP, and Rocha controlled APGA faction. Even the PDP members with Tambuwal were Tinubu and SW ACN allies. Clearly nothing was zonned to any region if someone from another geopolitical zone from within thesame party still contrasted for the same position and got the backing of majority of his party members.supportIt's on record that PDP zoned the Speaker position to SW in 2011. It's also on record that Tambuwal was a renegade who rebelled against party formula and got massive and total support from SW to edge out Mulikat. NASS elections is full of intrigues. Party members can chose to disobey party directives as we saw with PDP members who defied party consensus candidate Ndume, to vote for Lawan. However, the party has to be seen to have officially made the right decisions by allocating position in equity and leave the rest to the conscience of members. APC hasn't done this. It outrighly opted to officially marginalize the SE APC caucus, while handing double ration to SW APC. If you want to rationalize why you think SE should get marginalized for SW double ration, you can go on. But what we will not tolerate is you pretending like PDP didn't officially zone the Speaker to SW, while APC couldn't officially zone the Speaker to SE. @ other positions.Let's stick to the topic for now. The topic is party internal zoning system for sharing of top 6 posts and place of inclusiveness and equity. Stick to topic. We are not talking about appointments for now. SE has been severely marginalized by APc on appointments, and let's not forget that we only had a post in NASS on 2015 because of Ekwerremadu rendezvous with Saraki. APC had no plans to carry SE along officially, both in NASS and Appointments since 2015. But like I said, let's stick to NASS and top six elective posts for now. @ zoning positions to the East in APCThis is not about SE. This is about SE APC members who worked hard for the party despite the resistance they face at home. Are you saying they don't deserve equity in a party they helped build and for all their efforts? Democracy is all about inclusiveness. SW was not marginalized by PDP in 2011. PDP officially zoned the speaker position to SW in 2011. NASS internal politics and Tinubu sabotage resulted in SW losing out. Has APC officially zoned the speaker position to SE, and Gbajabiamilla managed to still emerge victorious. No one would have blamed APC. But that's not the case here. What you are virtually saying is that SE APC members are not to get equity in APC and you tried to justify why the party can not officially let equity be, good enough. But don't try to obfuscate issues by entangling it with PDP in 2011, where the party officially went for equity and left the rest to fate. There is simply no basis for analogy between the intrigues of 2011 NASS and 2019. |

pazienza:@ emboldened You are a joke Do you know what empirical evidence means? Tambwual himself said you can go and subtract APC votes and he will still have won in a open interview And nobody disputed it. Perhaps you go and do the mathematics for yourself. No PDP deliberately marginalized Yorubas because it was PDP votes that made Tambwual the speaker. And no, SE APC is virtually non existing becauseTwo is not equal to Fifteen. You guys will have been singing a different song had it been Atiku had won. Stop disturbing me with long meaningless epistles. |

Iamgrey5:The joke is on you. Tambuwal is a politician. I'd rather have the facts and figures myself than what he said. He wasn't the umpire to the NASS election, was he? So provide the figures that showed SE and SS PDP members backed Tambuwal over Mulikat or forever keep your teacherous mouth shut. The burden of proof is on you. Provide the stats. |

Yyeske:Thanks for your mature comment, my brother. I want to state that it is not a crime for any ethnic nationality to clamor for self determination. What breeds bad blood and distrusts when calls for self determination is being made by a particular tribe, is when other ethnic nationalities are being blackmailed and harassed when demands for self determination is being made by a particular group. The mere fact that notable Yoruba leaders were not in support of the Biafran cause during the civil war and during recent agitations for Biafra, does not in any way, suggest that some Yorubas are not sympathetic towards your cause. The only thing permanent in politics is self-interest. Time was, when the Igbo Nation, was the preferred bride of the Hausa-Fulanis, in political alliance in Nigerian politics. All the juicy posts both in the 1st & 2nd Republic, besides the Prime Minister and President posts, went the way of the Igbo Nation while the Yorubas, were in opposition and there was no cry of 'Oduduwa Republic or death', by the Yorubas. The Igbo Nation should learn how to play opposition politics while it lasts and wait for when their preferred political party will be voted to power. |
