Seller asked me if I knew how much it's costs to clear a non Accidented 2009 sedan  , me I smiled, by him sef he came down to 900k, then I started to preach about Profit and loss in business, and all the unexpected possibilities... we went back and forth until we settled for N820,000 I agreed, told him I shall pay, when vehicle is about to be towed, my self and cardealer went to find Tow truck. 6 Likes |

Finding a tow truck and getting it to location was tricky. If you know the "Gate" area very well it might take about 30mins-1hr to drive out and drive into jakande estate. So the tow truck driver decided to use his personal SUV truck which was already withing the area, to pull the vehicle out to the main road (Mr biggs) where the main truck was parked. cost of Towing was 25,000 to workshop. Tow truck driver/hype man came and vehicle was pulled out while I initiated money transfer to seller. transfer initiated, vehicle Gone, www.nairaland.com/attachments/9643432_img201906151058525_jpeg3898527fccc84e73a234c822d2b110b9 Transfer received but seller says balance not changed and he has no Internet banking or atm. I tried explaining to seller that it would take a while for book balance to reconcile with main balance, but my guy no gree  so I offered to wait. Seller called a friend, friend told him to be careful  finally I we realised. We had a common acquaintance in Ladipo market, He called him to find out if I was legit, I was certified and I left. On my way to meet up with the tow guys, his balance updated. Remember I said I was happy when I Realised vehicle had a damaged motor, well here's why, 2weeks ago I bought a 2az-fe HV engine, it's basically same with a 2az-fe engine, but with modified cam shafts for easy startup on the HV engine, my intention was to swap camshafts on the HV and retain the VTC actuators and have a perfectly functional 2az-engine. I had bought the engine (mileage about 120,000) miles by checking vin tag, and it had been sitting in the shop waiting for the day it would become useful, and finally the day was here, no need to swap any parts, just use as is. 20 Likes |

Crash course how a typical hybrid vehicle works. Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive system is comprised of six primary components: a petrol engine, an electric motor, an electric generator , the power control unit (HV inverter), and a power split device that uses a special type of gearbox to smoothly distribute power from the engine, motor and generator. Google. The engine drives the generator which charges the battery, the battery also receives a charge when vehicle brakes (regenerative braking) or during vehicle deceleration. it's a very smart system with a lot of sensors that measure every slight variation in vehicle motion to convert any waste to electricity generation. This Hybrid vehicle is not equipped with a starter motor (kick starter) as all hybrid vehicles, rather the electric generator doubles as a starter motor, transmission, and Alternator all in one. This vehicle is equipped with an electric a/c compressor, that is not driven by a belt. This vehicle is also equipped with 2 water pumps 1 mechanical the other driven by an electric motor, the mechanical water pump is required for the engine, when it's running, and the electric driven pump for the power control unit (HV inverter) Vehicle is equipped with 2 batteries, 1 is the regular 75ah battery for vehicle accessories, while the other is the battery pack that drives the electric motor. Preliminary Diagnosis. Scanned vehicle with bad motor and it did not throw any inverter codes or generator codes. So I am hoping the generator and inverter is still in good shape. Sunday I bribed the bois to come to work so we could remove the old motor and install the replacement. At this point I have to mention that working on a hybrid requires some basic knowledge of the electronics of that specific vehicle. first thing to do before starting to work on the motor or any major part, is to disconnect all power to the system. To do that, disconnect the negative terminal of the accessory battery, then take out the Hybrid HV battery fuse. 3 Likes
