That money cannot pay rent nor do anything for you a a visitor in those countries. You also need permit to go into retail in Ghana and those countries as a foreigner. Those things require money . At the end of the day, transport and logistics will gulp down the money in less than one week of arrival. The Nigerian becomes homeless and friendless in another man's country.

Frustration sets in. He will regret embarking on the trip. He sold off all he had or his parents did to travel to Ghana hence nothing to go back to even if he tried to (most will be too embarrassed to go sef) . Do you know how much Nigerians (southernerns & middlebelters) abroad remit in cash to Nigeria annually? Both those involved in legal & illegal businesses abroad. Last year's remittance to Nigeria was estimated at about $21 billion. Without this remittance and yahoo boys money from abroad, Nigeria would have been on it's way in being as wretched as countries like Niger republic.
