Ben Murray Bruce has written in a Tweet that the country, Nigeria's Universities have been spending scarce resources on courses that are irrelevant to her.


"Nigerian universities are spending scarce resources on courses that are not relevant to Nigeria. Instead of STEMs (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math), we are churning out graduates whose courses cant help them find jobs or start businesses. We must focus on STEMs."

i was thinking about this recently...Our education system in this country seriously needs a total reformation

Funny enough twitter lord, the sector that employs graduates the most in Nigeria is the banking/financial industry which isnt even among the stem abi na root courses.

Is only the banking sector you would see graduates of various fields such as medicine, law, biologist, statistics, engineer, architecture to say the least.

So sir, find one seat and go and sit down.

We can't migrate to new method without a clear and concise road map. That's a law by the people not the highest bidders we have now.

Dear Ben Murray Bruce, every course is useful for the country. If you are talking of our immediate needs, that's a different thing. It's only in this country that we don't fully harness our resources. Don't forget these sciences STEMMED from courses like philosophy. We need our universities to develop human capacities in different areas Thanks.

Then he shows up on Twitter and makes harebrained tweets. Should universities fire their linguistics lecturers or force them to start lecturing science courses? Shut down other faculties?
