My RN5 (Chinese) came in 3 months ago on a Global Rom with an unlocked bootloader. I got the Pie notification (1.6GB) about 10 days ago and after due consultation here, I went ahead and the update was very fast AND NO BRICKING WAS ENCOUNTERED.

Take his advice what he said is true I'm not sure if your phone was CV but nowadays after download original global ROM and flash

Update your phone to 10.3.6.0 then go to display under settings to set the dark mode

I get 7 _8% SOT in an hour surfing only a browser....

It can only be put on 3G. Only the browsing Sim has that option of 4G 3G and 2G

1. Turn on Dual 4G for you to see the option on both Sims.
2. Alternatively use *#*#4636#*#* or download ForceLTE app from playstore to do it.

He updated successfully because like me his bootloader was unlocked correctly. Those that were affected had fake unlocked bootloader. I posted about this some days ago. Some that were affected this is their first major update.

I use a CV with Global ROM and this is the second major upgrade am doing first from MIUI 9 to MIUI 10, second from android 8.1 to 9

I think battery improved using default browser alone to achieve 6-7% SOT.......(same settings b4 update and after Update)....

Tho sometimes , b4 the new update ,I do achieve dsame 6-7 percent for an hour...bt very few occasions

Screen burn bro, the rom youre on right now might have issues somewhere either with the kernel or maybe firmware idk.

Just got the RN7 yesterday. Update notification was sent immediately I connected to my Lenovo k5 pro WI-FI. got the MIUI V10. 3.6.0 update. Still trying to figure out if the experience will justify the hype, not that I need a new phone.
