Lol, I just got an infinix S4 tempered glass. My screen was already having a lot of little little lines and small dots. Even though it has not fallen before. It's like they were as a result of my rubbing the screen too much with my fingers.
Those are necessary, better safe than sorry

Please how do I force my unused SIM for browsing to 2g. I can't find the "preferred network type" option on the unused SIM. Whereas, I can see it on the sim I am using to browse.

Click on mobile networks from that your SIM card settings for a drop down where you will now see the preferred network type

Do I really need May security patch? I don't even care for dark mode or that screen went black in some cases. I'll remain on 10.3.5.0 until I hear something like Battery improvements...

To me sha the GCam looks more natural to the stock. I would say you increase the sharpness of the stock camera to get more details.
No problem, will do

Naaa, go for the cheaper one since you can't afford the expensive one, it's less than 9k.

Redmi Note 5 China Version with Global ROM, Should I update to pie? Have never tinkered with it since n I have been updating the MiUi without issues.

P.S: Region, India.

Go ahead and update.
I have exactly the same phone as yours
With an unlocked bootloader though.
Took me 1.6GB for the update and it was very smooth.

How is ur mi8 doing, apart from the notch been ugly, what other thing(s) u see against the phone?

So far... It's fine
Battery is underwhelming but i can get through an entire day with ease, esp cos I'm at work all day.

I'm using Macrodroid to bend it to my will now, since i have no interest in rooting.

I can't stand mobile games so i can't really say anything about that but no lags and apps stay open in background

Overall, it's not a bad way to take a peak outside the midrange specs. The better battery life on its mi9 friend is about all I'm looking forward to

your phone will enter bootloop because

1. the phone is chinese version that comes with locked/unlocked bootloader with chinese rom and later changed to global rom with the current android version. ota update directly to diffrent android version will result to bootloop

2. Updating the globa rom to pie(ugrading from android version 'oreo' to another 'pie 'with different rom version that comes with phone) through ota will allow the bootloader to lock again and this will result to bootloop

Advice

download full pie rom and flash through miflash tool and make sure u dont allow bootloader lock during flashing..

Not true.
My RN5 (Chinese) came in 3 months ago on a Global Rom with an unlocked bootloader. I got the Pie notification (1.6GB) about 10 days ago and after due consultation here, I went ahead and the update was very fast AND NO BRICKING WAS ENCOUNTERED.

But I have a Chinese Version with Global ROM and I did my update without any bootloop.

The theory is wrong because it affected some and not all.

Me too.

It can only be put on 3G. Only the browsing Sim has that option of 4G 3G and 2G
