Welcome back bro. You were dearly missed. Tbaba1234 please help me answer this question cos I seem to be confused? Please why is Ezenwa number 1 goalie? Or goalkeeper numbering isn't effective for who is first choice? He never manned the posts at the World Cup and now still he is number 1. Please how?

Wearing number 1 jersey doesnt make you first choice

If this is how we'll be playing 1-0 and win the nation's Cup, I think it's a good thing.
At the end our goal keeper would have kept clean shiit and we would have scored only 7 goals.
Quite a funny record grin

Moses Simon, one word - Beast

Aina will play Top level football

Meanwhile, I have tried to see most of the matches in this tourney and I can say I have yet to see that team I feel is better than the SE...This is a solid team as it can get..nd a lot of people seems to have confidence in this team moving forward... That is a good thing, very very good...

And ighalo should have scored one goal today, on the long run he is not very very very reliable What if we needed that goal? Hun undecided

Anyway solid display from the EAGLES

i was expecting another quick change after the coach subbed off iwobi. I was thinking man will bring in Mikel and sub off Simon so that Chukwueze can play in his normal position....he ended up featuring onuachu.

Exactly. I don't see why he put in Chukwueze in the middle when he should have subbed of Simon. At least Mikel has midfield presence and would stabilize the midfield. Rorh got that change wrong, hope he's taking notes sha.

I do hope our return to AFCON will mean winning the cup again.

Honestly, I still don't know if we would win but I would love Mikel's retirement to be marked by another Afcon Triumph. We have the quality but the key is in Rohr's hands.

Good to see you too Sir Joebie. Your room looks really organized... Headed to Andrew's...

I saw it too

Iwobi was everywhere, apart from some misplaced or hurried passes here and there he always made himself available to receive passes in the middle. I'm sure he would have more touches than anybody else despite playing for 75 mins. And he's also looking like our best long range shooter at the moment too.

i believe he left Simon in the game because of the energy he brought to the game and maybe the great support he gave awaziem going back and forth.

So many people here are just been emotional.

I started Moses in my lineup and they were all hell out cos their favorite player was omitted.

AFCON is a tournament and not a league. You can only win by been defensively strong and Moses Simon was there to provide cover for the defense and he did it perfectly well.

The team played better today. I think the only missing link is the CMF position. Mikel should agree to play there.

I'll like us to keep that shape for the last group dead rubber game against Madagascar with few TWEAKS. AKPEYI for the confidence sake, Mikel for Etebo, then Henry, Victor and Kalu can lead the attack for proper assessment.

.... ...... AKPEYI........
Aina...... Kenneth...... Balogun...... Awaziem/Collins
................ Ndidi........ Mikel.........
Henry........... Iwobi.......... Kalu
................. Osimhen..........

Congrats to the guys for progressing.

Since we’re on course to win Group B, we will face a 3rd placed in either groups A/C/D

Here are the possibilities based on current trends and how I personally feel each group will end:

Group A : Most likely Zimbabwe. I’m not entirely sold on Uganda but I think they’ll edge the Zimbabweans. DR Congo is too poor to muster up a point. We’ll get a clearer picture after the end of today’s fixtures.

Group C: Kenya or Tanazania.

Group D: South Africa. Namibia won’t even smell a point.

Of course this is premature. However, based on current trends, I could see us facing Kenya or most likely South Africa in the round of 16.

I can say it with confidence that we have one inconsequential Martch ;

Rohr should put Musa and Etebo on the bench ... let others come and play ... they are on one yellow card each ....

... my regards goes to the fitness traininer of the team. Our boys are well drilled. Despite the climatic condition ... they played like gladiator to the end .

Omeruo has always been good in the air, right from the 2009 U-17 Fifa World Cup. Remember his stunning header against Germany? He almost did it against Burundi.

Simon may not have been fancy, but he brings workrate to the right wing. He was always going to play 90 mins.
Samu was brought on and moved to the middle mainly so we could hit them on the break.
I'm surprised Rohr was brave enough to play him there as I've said it's one of the reasons why dropping Nacho wasn't a bad idea.
Mikel would've stabilized the midfield true but we were defending deep anyway so Leon could just float the ball long for Onachu to knock down to Samu or out wide to Musa.
