It's not the point, it's the fact that the possibility exists that a 35 year old can still have blistering pace.

Add to that the dynamics of genetic disposition of Africans and it becomes very plausible.

I remember watching a near 40 year old Taribo West burning top players for pace who were probably 15 years plus younger than him.
Can those athletes keep the pace for 90min? To run 100metres no reach 20secs, you are comparing grapes with apples

You tell me, what makes you think Amunike would do better with Nigeria?

Rohr plays with his foot on the brakes a bit too much for me.

sponsored journalism hahahahahahaha! oga if ifeanyi did exceptionally well as you said atleast a mid table team in the turkish top flight will snap him up. lillestrom wants to sell him but no serious interest so far. he was previously linked with a move to rosenborg last season but that didnt happen

Phil Neville gives me the idea of calling up Samson Siasia to the Super Falcons. I think his coaching style would be perfect for the women.

Against a team like Kenya?
He definitely would...

With two games to spare in the qualifying rounds for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, Rohr’s Niger had lost three of their four games, losing the other, and the German tactician resigned.
From Goal

Easier said than done.

What's Siasia even up to these days??

Since the 2017 AFCON qualifier we haven't heard about him...

Abi he is still waiting for another NFF job?

Amunike's philosophy is more creative and offensive. We have quality talents but we are still holding back.

Ok Amunike lost from a leading position and is out from the Afcon

The facts don't reflect your opinion

Damn it mehn... Amunike really needs to learn defending or go get a God damn defensive coach angry

U don't open up the game all in the name of playing free flowing attacking football , you will get punished.

Twice you went ahead, twice they equalize and beat you. This is atrocious

But he is not far from the truth

Amunike is a better attacking coach than Rohr. Rohr is very conservative in his approach but at least he has been getting the results so far in AFCON
He's far from the truth, is football all about attacking? What about the defensive side? We score 2 our opponents score 4 or we meet a better team who are able to cage our attack and they pound us 4 na weytin una like abi

Crashing out and losing is part of the game. Diego Simeone got the Barcelona of Argentina (River Plate) relegated. Did not mean his philosophy was wrong. Amunike is working with a weakened team and is getting them to play with their feet on the accelerator which is Commendable. This is not a sprint but a marathon. Although, I hope with time Amunike switches to a more talented side.

It is part of the game and philosophy. The boys are learning to play the Amunike way, defending in mass is not a piece of the puzzle. They have to learn or Amunike needs to search harder, to find more technical defenders that can play his pattern.

However, deviating from his philosophy is deviating from his values because the philosophy is what will take him to top heights.

You call them failures, I call it falling down and it takes perseverance, hardwork, faith and support by those who believe in the down trodden to rise with time.

Looking for people winning and celebrating is what is called glory hunting.

Manchester City were called failures 9 years ago when I was supporting them. They did not qualify for the champions league and were called failures.

Today the success of that time look up to City. Food for thought.

i disagree, is not eleven players on both sides? some of those minnows you call them now have Europe based players

You still haven't presented a valid enough fact to dispute my earlier position.

Can you expect countries like Honduras, Panama and the likes causing a team like Brazil upsets? The gulf in class is evident.

I would never support Diego Simeone for his negativity. Never. I hate even watching his games. When I am talking of his philosophy being wrong, I am talking of his losses not meaning he can win games. Not that I support it. I detest his style with a passion.
He is even wasting one of my best players, Lamar, who I think is a genius. Made a very wrong move to Atletico.

You are not God or have the power to make someone fail. I am sorry, Iheanacho rose from the worst backgrounds to a Premier League footballer. I think he has more grace than your negative wishes for him to fail.

Losing game is part of football. Spain went out in the group stage in France 98 and Nigeria won the group. Over the years, Spain has won the World Cup and we are yet to pass second round.

Food for thought.
