Let's call it as it is. Kenya does not have MI-28s, it's not possible to place an order for a large number of helicopters in secret.

Especially when it is claimed Kenya is the first export customer. It's simply not possible. Kenya does not operate MI-28 Helicopters.

Btw,algeria1,what's the casualty allowance on your numerous live firexes? Here its 4 dead per battalion,which coupled with the ordnance price is why its only held once a year. You seem to do a divisional live firex quarterly so I'm wondering.

Its algerian1 ,i miss a lot of mention with this algeria1 .

Algerian army have a strong control about its information and its own communication services . so there is no reports about any casualty during all the last years of live fire exercises .

Dude,please change your tone! I was informed 2011 the first were inbound-many reputable sources have the same info-WHY? Anecdotal info suggests they're here but not with 50 aircav in Embakasi,Nairobi but in Laikipia AB. A guy I know saw one in flight about 2 yrs back about 800" AGL above N Nairobi;btw he's KAF and knows his ishyt.
Also, are all these otherwise reputable specialised aviation forums repeating BS?

An Attack helicopter is not something you can hide..... Besides SIPRI has no trade register for any mi28 to Kenya.

Kenya defense forces will be using their newly acquired Mil M-28N attack helicopters, after four of these Russian made attack helicopters were commissioned for use at Laikipia Air Base, Kenya’s largest air base after their successful delivery.



Kenya defense forces procurement had ordered 16 of these ‘Havoc’-Mil M-28N attack helicopters and they were due for delivery by March 2012, however delays have been reported in scheduled delivery.

Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) acquired four helicopter gunships from Russia with delivery being made on January 3rd 2012 to the 50th Air Calvary Division by the Russian state-owned corporation Rosoboronexport which is an intermediary for all imports and exports of military related hardware.

KDF confirmed that delivery of the aircraft and said that the orders were placed several years back. The delivery dates were late 2011 and January 2012.
