the ivorians no doubt have quality but I still think they're Limited in the midfield area just like their Senegalese counterpart
The same midfield wey some francophone pipo here no let us hear word about.

Is it really good news that the NPFL is losing its best legs?
He has been out of the npfl for a couple years now. This only shows that quality in the league can be translated overseas.

Lol

So you want them to stay on that mediocre league for the rest of their career like rabiu Ali ?

It's good news npfl players are being bought rather than going for trials in Poland 2nd division and co and end up being rejected

Junior lokosa should thank God he got an escape with that Tunisia club

Out of 3 meetings.

North Africa won 2, West Africa only managed a draw.

So football dwells squarely in North Africa.

Case closed.

But these francophone West Africans dey fall hands sha... I trust Nigeria and Ghana would have done better

Uhmmm.... Aliou Cisse coaches Senegal not CIV.

edi287:
Aliou Cisse surely must be sacked after this tournament?
Dude is wasting this Ivorian team.

But in Farouk Miya, they have one of the best setpiece takers at this Afcon. Just saying.

Tunisia last march was scrab
no thanks to their goal keeper....

I am happy that they're not a strong side...
hopefully we get to avoid Egypt until the finals...then anything can happen.

I am just praying for Rohr to get his first 11 right...then we are good to go....
No need to fear any team.

Let's look at it this way. If we beat the hosts in the quarter finals, it means we have already done the brunt of the work.

Also, the confidence of the players would be skyhigh. To me, Egypt has just not been exposed by a better team yet. Who knows, thy may not get past the QFs except CAF referees aid and abet

And they dropped some better midfielders who did well in Seria A ?

Na them sabi sha

A North African team or Nigeria is winning this afcon

Mark my words

And Winfred zaha was on the bench for 90 minutes ?
I know right who lives the most dangerous player on the bench I mean really

Nigerian winning? I believe so too just have to keep improving at the moment I feel we are 60 to 70% capacity and we will need to be at hundred percent to beat the North Africans

Where is the revolution??

Francophone African countries are serial underachievers in football.. Always churning out good players with no end benefit for their national team...
They even over-hyped Moussa Marega

Truth is, the guy is average as best

North African team or naija

Morocco are good

I don't fear Algeria

Egypt are the host that's why I will consider them

They are not better than us

Only 3 players there will make our team

I'm not sold out on Egypt yet. Nice list though

As for Nigeria, we need to take our chances and play for ach other to increase our deadliness in front of goal

We are playing third place team in group A if we top our group except group A and B does not produce 3rd placed teams as well.

Humility017:
NIGERIA TO PLAY ANY OF GROUP A, C OR D THIRD PLACEDTEAMS

Lagos – The Super Eagles will play their Round of 16 match against any of the third placed teams in Group A, C or D, if
they top Group B of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
Nigeria currently top the group with six points having won the two games played. They defeated Burundi 1-0 on Saturday and also beat Guinea by the same margin on Wednesday. Madagascar, Nigeria’s last group opponent on Sunday are second on four points. They drew 2-2 with Guinea last Saturday and beat Burundi 1-0 on Thursday. Guinea are third with a point, having lost a game and drew the other. Burundi with a mathematical chance of reaching the Round of 16 provided they beat Guinea on Sunday are pointless having lost the two games played.
According to the tournament fixture, the team that wins Group B, will play one of the third best placed teams in either Group A, C or D.
After two matches, Uganda or Zimbabwe or DR Congo may place third in Group A, while in Group C, either Kenya or Tanzania may place third and likely Group D third placed teams remains sketchy since they’ve each played a game. The group D teams will play their second games today.
Commenting on this, Taiwo Oloyede, ex-international says, “The Super Eagles should be prepared to face any team if they hope to lift their fourth AFCON title this time around in Egypt.
“The players are there and the technical crew should be able to get their acts together and use the best selection for the team’s matches.”

Abeg make una go drag @chriskels come here

Who are the real carpenters now?... Imagine fa, after burning my data to watch these subcontinental derbies only Mali stood up to be counted.

Senegal and Ivory Coast went AWOL. No coordination, no crisp movement, no penetrating or deadly attacking intent.

Yet christkels will not let us rest on this thread. Face it man, your adopted countries flopped when real men were called up to be counted.

@Addrew44, even you too.

What is the essence of big name players yet no quality play? undecided

The coaches of these countries too are classic examples of what we call "Mutulas"

You think people that rated Cameroon higher than Senegal to win it are mad?
