Under the child rights act of 2003 the age of consent is 18 years mr man.
Read section 31 of the act.
This event happened way back then not now.
Sexual offences bill is different from the child rights act also not all states have implemented the act.
Besides Nigeria has some conflicting laws hence what applies in the north(some parts) cannot apply in the south.

Under the NIGERIAN CONSTITUTION, which is the supreme Law of the land, the age of consent is 11 and the Nigeria statutory rape law is violated when an individual has consensual sexual contact with a person under age 11 !
