Nigeria versus Cameroon? Is it confirmed?

This should be a good match, we've had 3 games to gauge who should start the match and who should stay on the bench. I'm looking for Rohr to install the right players & tactics this time around.

Ghana has won the Afcon 4 times and been in the grand finale 9 times

We played our 98th AFCON game today, second to only Egypt

Are we mates? Be honest

Yes ooh. Naija can’t afford to go home early. Playing Ghana would have been an early exit for naija. No be so?

Ghana doing all they could to score more goals and avoid Nigeria. Nobody wan go home early...

U ain't worth this airtime bro. I cant be arguing with someone who sees group stage matches as more weighty than the KO stages. I love taking on Ghanaians on soccer related matters bkus some of them are really knowledgeable and can be objective even when emotional, buh, for u to have used that line "group stage over KO", u are a far cry from those brainy guys I came/come across on ghanasoccernet.com/ghanaweb, so bro, I'm done with u. Deceiving yourself. Ghana had 2 points before the final game. There was a chance there were going to be the 3rd placed team and a possibility of not making it to the next round. Both games were played the same time, did you expect they would be complacent?

You flew in without getting the point.. As of the time that guy posted that comment Ghana were already 2 goals up and in the last minutes so they were essentially through but yet they were still playing hard to increase their goal difference to be extra sure they don't finish 2nd and meet Nigeria.

You didn't get the context but still you quickly stated that I'm deceiving myself.

I've been doing my research. Are there proven former national team coaches out there who are without a job?
I'm speaking of coaches who can play the kind of football we want.

One name comes to mind, Juan Carlos Osorio. Let's build a list.. any more suggestions on our next handler?

modified
my bad, it seems the oga is taken. He just got a new job.. maybe we can snatch him from that club

I think our approach should be to ask ourselves first, what are the 3/4 or 5 essential character traits required to succeed as a manager of the SE considering our peculiar circumstances as well as organisational culture and values.

For me it would be as follows :
UNCOMPROMISING INTEGRITY
IN-DEPTH EXPERIENTIAL FOOTBALL KNOWLEDGE
INTELLIGENT ASSERTIVENESS
DIPLOMACY
PASSIONATE EMPATHY FOR THE SE.

With this in mind there are somethings that you ca understand but only if your black can you experience, the manager has to be black.

From a perspective of personal interaction, my first choice would be Chris Houghton and my second choice may seem a bit of a maverick but he will throw his entire being into the job and is not scared to say his mind, SOL CAMPBELL.

You may indeed have your own approach that is different from mine it will be interesting to see it and your rational too which allows for better appreciation.

Is that a prophecy? The probability of that happening is very high - 15/16. Only one team out of the 16 will be going home with the trophy.

You listed qualities to succeed as SE manager but you didn't list the most important one which is the ability to stomach non payment, bribery and corruption and unwarranted influence from certain personalities

Any manager that does not have that capacity will resign within the first month of getting the SE job

I prefer Ghana.
We are going to find it very difficult to score against this Cameroon team.
They are also very good at set pieces unlike Ghana that has nothing to offer in the air.
They will fight very hard to take us to penalties and with Onana in goal, we stood no chance.
Cameroon is it for me.
Penalty/ one nil from corner kick!

Not a bad thought marvellous Basco. But the Wafu tournament would have to be so lucrative to attract the best of our west African talents abroad. But again, won't that mean less opportunities for the home based lads? Okay... They still got CHAN yes... But would that be enough? #Justsaying

BascoVanVeli:
I would like to one day see a WAFU featuring every team's best players. It would rival the AFCON IMO.

Now that takes me into my wacky thought of the day. I think west African football would improve more if we make ourselves a separate entity. We have a good quality teams that can get each other better. If we do this countries can save money in travelling and spend it to improve the quality at home. Well that is just a thought.

Coaching is not about experience but philosophy.
If coaching is about experience Mancity will not sack Pellegrini for Pep.
Rohr is very silly.
I can coach the Super Eagles better than that Fool.
have you seen him coach any team before?

To me Mali is the most entertaining team of this tournament.

Egypt is Second.

I mean, This Malians play an exciting football coupled with great attacking instincts.

Rohr should be watching them to learn or he should go understudy under their Coach Magassouba

They will also find it hellish getting past our defence marshalled by the La Liga Warrior in Kenneth Omeruo partnered by a resurgent Balogun. The defence of the first two games is what Cameroun will be up against and they will sweat.

Also, that game will be decided in 90mins or worse, extra time. There will be no penalties. Cameroun is yet to concede, I know... But they will concede against the Super Eagles.

History favors Nigeria because we always have it good against any tournament's defending champions. We have never lost to a defending champion in a Knock out.

I agree with some of your points though, but do those coaches tick those boxes below (especially the 3rd and 4th)?

oga, na u dey think that one. the players are busy on field. After two draws, why wouldn't they want to destroy their last opponent. My kind of football is score as much as you can, only play cautious if your opponent is equally strong. Who were Ghana playing again? Gone are the days when many teams were scared of Nigeria.

you are soo naive, dumb and clueless to realize that before a team will qualify for the knockout stage, it will first have to win its group matches. As daft as you are you failed to realize that 3rd place are worthless to many nations, thats why in euro there isnt a third placed much. I regret engaging such a juvenile.

as i ghanaian i dont support the super eagles but the cameroon team is not good and dont use nigeria's third game to judge them. they can easily beat cameroon. I will be shocked if they dont.
