The senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District, Senator Ishaku Abbo, has apologised to Nigerians, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and women in general, following a viral video in which he was seen physically assaulting a lady.

He made the apology at a press conference at the PDP headquarters in Abuja.

The Senator who was closed to tears at the briefing asked for forgiveness, saying it is not in his character to assault women.

This is really a lesson for all our overzealous politicians. Having realised d video was all revealing and no hiding place for him he has suddenly beat a retreat and apologised. We d good people are saying that d apology is not enough . Tot he was grandstanding about his lawyer making a more detailed explanation but las las none exists. Shame to him, shame to his wife that came to his defence, shame to d gun wielding policemen that stood by and encouraged his power drive. If we all unite on common courses that affect us all irrespective of political affiliation then d revolution we all yearn for might be closer than we imagine. Watching Sowore and Nnamdi Kanu in their joint statement shows we can all come together to hold our leaders to become accountable, d true gain in diversity of ideas.
