So all the coast line in south south is not good enough abi. We already have one in lagos, why build another one in ondo instead of the south south or even onitsha? One nigeria indeed.
When all the South south/ east leaders even youths will be fighting/asking the builders for money before the work cab be allowed to progress. Kidnapping of same for ransom etc...the area is not safe for her indigenes not to talk of strangers

If you can see the future, you will surely see that from Ibeju-Lekki in Lagos down to Ondo Via proposed coastal road has a very bright future. The deep sea port in Ibeju-Lekki is less than three hours drive to Ondo.

But more coastal states in the south South Region should have a deep sea port most especially Onitsha because of the high level of commercial activities in the city.

Does Onitsha have a sea to begin with? Let's stop being sentimental.

Akwa Ibom needs a seaport more than Ondo does.
But they are playing politics with it.
Seaport that will not help reduce the number of accidents on Benin-Ore express road.

The Akwa-Ibom State Government and the FG are already working on the Ibaka Sea port so what are you talking about?Ondo has the longest coastline/ depth in the country and it's close to Lagos and also the east if they easterners that have no sea want to use it.

You dont expect the FG to prioritize a River Port over a Sea port do you? Onne port is active. Warri and Calabar are the ones that needs to be revived.

No, you are the one being tribalistic and supporting evil due to irrational hatred. Why Ondo? That's a sensible, patriotic question to ask. PH, Warri and Calabar have ports already which are deliberately neglected and dilapidated. It will be cheaper to develop these ones than build a new one in Ondo. Onitsha and Aba based businesses have the highest need for a seaport and PH, Warri or Calabar are much closer to them.
The question, why Ondo? is therefore legitimate but YOUR tribalism and hatred wont let you see the logic in it.

Yes, Ibaka is 13m while Ondo is 17m. 4m depth is no joke.

Warri and Calabar is just a damn waste of money. Calabar depth is just 6 m while warri is like 7m which requires constant dredging leading to high maintenance cost.
Ibaka is deep, lekki and Ondo will be the deepest.
If we allow tribalism we will lose important things.

You can ask that question to your brother GEJ when he was the president, yet could not do such to his region. Thats why I marveled the way SE especially praise this man to high heavens, yet no single development in both SE and SS. Even his state can have the seaport.
So do not blame this current regime if they are doing the right thing as they understand better. I rest my case.

I believe if your governors have taken steps to ensuring such project happens in the region, the FG will sordidly support. Try and read again and see the reasons for the project to be executed in Ondo State compare to badagry and other states that have shown interest. Trust me Ondo State governor had done it's home work regarding the project before approaching the FG.
State government need to think outside the box on economic development in their respective states. Not just to wait for allocation from Abuja. I also supported the idea of the cultivation of marijuana in Ondo State considering the economic impact it will have provided it's properly regulated. Tribalism will not kill us in Nigeria. Governors should come up with programs to liberate their people economically and approach FG for support if they will not support. True federalism is the way forward. .
