Now the Mi 9 is about 5 months old you don't expect the price to remain the same. And the drastic drop in price was because of the slow sales. A lot of people complained of the design which was similar to the Mi 8 and also thebattery not been worthy of a flagship. This contributed to poor sales and to keep up with their revenue inflow they have to release device that will bridge the gap. That is where the Redmi K20 Pro came in.

If you think the Mi 9 was cheaper you would have gotten at the time of Launch in February when the base version went for over N160k

Capital YES, it is better getting it in nigeria if it is available even with little charge because of the stress and wait time to get it from aliexpress doesn't worth it.

Also in my own, the mi 9t is too overpriced compare to MI 9 and MI 9 se. Maybe it is because it is their latest phone or because the demand is still very high for it. For me that phone look wild and the only thing that got me attracted is the pop up camera, other than that, it is a NO NO for me.

I am MI series fans since 2017 and I won't change to redmi user. Also xiaomi confirm MI series as their real flagship and that will not make me pay so much for k20 pro or whatever

K20 is the better phone. I'm not just a fan of MIUI. And I hate that it doesn't have an SD card slot, but all rounder a better phone.

Oppo are expensive too. The Oppo F11 pro is been sold at N135000 in Nigeria now imagine how much their flagships costs.

I perfectly understand what you mean but you are totally wrong anyway .... so many people value iPhone while some value Samsung s series more than any phone or brand and that is not because they think it determine their Social status but some think no phone can give them the maximum satisfaction they are enjoying with it and this always happen because they have not tested another brand.

In 2010, I use to said I can never use any qwerty phone because I was used to Nokia phone keyboard not until I tried BlackBerry and that was the end of Nokia for me that time. Same way I said I will never used any Android phone because i was addicted to physical button until I bought MI 5 in 2017 and the love I got for that phone was mad and that is the reason I'm maintaining that series. For me saying I won't use redmi phone doesn't mean I see it as a inferior or not so good phone, it is just that I'm okay with MI series and I'm sure if I use it, I will definately fall in love with it but the only thing that will make me use it or try another brand for now is only if MI series stop upgrading or dies which I don't see that coming in many years to come.

If I want a phone to determine my social status, then Xiaomi will never even come to my mind because majority in nigeria don't even know about the phone talk less of the price and I hardly tell the people that ask me for the name of the device because i can't even pronounce it very well. Anybody using Xiaomi phone will never have that thought in mind because even the cheap Samsung phone is more valued than any expensive Xiaomi phone by most people because the brand is not known by majority.
