FIFA unlike PES is quite graphically demanding, so you might need a new Graphics card to run the game in full HD at 60fps. You might be able to lower the settings but you might still not have a good experience. Also your RAM needs to be increased, most games suggest 8gb at the least

So a friend of mine has a Dell XPS 8500 I5 sitting around and I talk him into giving me the PC after some weekend flexing and 10k naira.. (I must be lucky),
As I said earlier I'm mostly into FIFA, so my question is what do I need to add to this PC for it to becoming a moderate gaming pc

Specs:
Ram 4gb
Processor Intel i5-3570s CPU @3.10Ghz, 3101Mhz, 4cores, 4 logical processor
Graphics card Geforce GT 620

Thanks for the reply, which decent card can I go for plus can I put an ssd into the desktop (with same connectors or I need an adapter )
Re: The Journey: Building A Budget 1080p Gaming Rig by tobasamuels: 6:04pm On Jul 02, 2019
Once it uses sata connection, yes you can use a sata SSD.

A 970 or 980 won't be bad second hand. But if you want newer cards then a 1050ti isn't bad for the price. Good for 1080p gaming, you might just have to turn down settings from time to time. Some of these games aren't well optimized, I struggle with my 1070 sometimes

Ordinary FIFA?? Sorry to burst your bubble but PES is more demanding.

In what way sir?

I have both and when I first installed it, I monitored the usage. FiFa pulls lots of power from processor and graphics card.

Did you even read the original post? Please don’t buy any 1050ti o. Get an RX570 or RX580. Same price, better performance. The only reason I would say you can do the 1050ti is if you don’t have a good PSU because power consumption on the RX cards is more than the 1050ti but performance? No

At the minimum settings for both, PES requires more from your computer. As you step that up it becomes more about your settings. But on the regular, PES is actually more demanding.

About the SSD...noticed you didn’t get an answer. NO, you don’t need an adapter. You’ll probably need a holder or if you don’t mind you can tie it does with zip ties. Newer cases have ssd slots though. If your mobo supports it, you can go the NVMe way and just not worry about any cables

Good catch, didn't think AMD when I was writing, but they do provide better value.

I responded to your mail and didn't hear back from you.

You can shop on Amazon and have it shipped by one of these NL folks. You'd just send the link and they'd buy and ship to naija here. Too many scams so go for established ones. That's how I bought my parts, cheaper than using my debit card myself.

That’s quite small, if you list out your parts we can calculate your consumption and see if you have room for either cards

It depends, if you can scavenge some parts then you can make this work. 150k can get you a mobo, 8GB of ram, a nice Ryzen 3 2200G and a psu. You’ll have to scavenge the hard drive and case and I think you’re good to go for a basic system. You can expand from that point as money dey enter your hand

1050ti retails between $170-$220 depending on the brand you buy.

Rx570 retails between $130-170 depending on the brand you buy.

These prices are minus shipping sha. Let me know if you need help with shipping.

I've been wanting to build a gaming pc for a while but the cost of shipping to naija has always been a let down for me. I envy those that live in America where you can just walk into a microcenter and get these parts on sale at really good prices.
Something like pc case, the shipping alone is even more than the price of the case, the same with monitors. My plan now is to buy them one after the other as I can afford until I get to the Case
