No, he passes to no one. He doesn't pick anyone to pass to. He just pass the ball hoping that a SE player will be there

That is why other attackers and midfielders should learn to read his game and get into positions for the crosses. wink

Well I'm not here to argue with you about who plays football or not. I do play football very well. It's what I do for a living. The op was trying to fault the difference between the musa we are seeing now, and the one we saw at the world cup. There are have been moments where we do want musa to shoot, but he prefers to cross to igahlo. We thereby lose the ball.

Good we are not arguing anything. Being that you know or play football you should know players follow the instructions from the coach. Just as everyone hopes he uses all opportunity that he has, himself and the coach know that too and so does the opponent. He must have been made to do what the opponent will not expect him to do as many eyes be on him. At the end it's victory. Next match could be a different strategy because the opponent might see him and Ighalo as less of a threat because they feel the same way you guys feel thinking opportunities will be missed also. Then comes a shocker and what am trying to correct is the fact that is Musa does very well next match these same people like op will come shouting he is the best or this and that. Let the game keep flowing that's all. No advice here can be meaningful to men wey dey Egypt like this so.

replace him with that useless Onuachu? Ighalo is bad but we don't have replacement for him so far...

Do you mean there are no better strikers in Pepsi academy or on Lagos street. ?

seems you and English are quarrelling. read the post again

musa is a finisher, he had curve speed, strength and attack. there are some chances I was expecting R2 kick from him

So he should man up and not follow instructions from the coach. Na English be your problem or na common sense no dey your side lol

he should man up beside he's the captain, we need not to misuse chances with our next opponent
Re: AFCON: Ahmed Musa's Unselfishness Is Causing Us Problems by Iamgrey5(m): 9:35am On Jul 12, 2019
Musa is not crossing with his natural foot because he playes on the left side of the attack.

His crosses are always few inches to the centre, while Igalo as a striker follows his natural instinct and runs to the byline.

We need a late runner from the middle of the pack (iwobi) and Amhed needs to make his crosses a little slower to enable the late runner catch the ball at the right time.

Lol@26.Please be honest to yourself bro.
baliyubla:
Musa is a complete team player and has always gone for the right decisions with his cut backs, the quality of his final passes should be what we question.

But for a guy that has 85 caps at 26 and has been a regular for the Country since 2010, one cannot question his commitment, even though the quality let’s him down a bit.

Btw, we’ve gat Chukwueze. wink

EditLord:
I watched the Nigeria South Africa match and I was a little confused as to why Musa was subbed when there's high chance that we might head into extra time. He gave that South African defence some troubles, same as Chukwueze.
The problem is our number 9 lacks positioning. Ighalo was nowhere to be found when Musa crosses.

Meanwhile, please I need someone to help me with business plan on photography. I need to submit it urgently, abeg make una help me

Many of those players can't keep up with Musa's pace that's why we witness lost or loose passes unutilized.

The only sensible guy here, musa's end product is terrible, doesn't knw when to pick a pass and tends to jst lay them and hope someone, somehow connects it

That is why we need football intelligence. A good team should be able to read the trajectory of the ball and anticipate by getting into the right position to score, the way Ekong did when he scored the winning goal.

Go and check ighalo's stats for club and country in the last one year. No Nigerian striker beats it

He is not the problem with the team.

He is acting on instructions. Ighalo though selfish is meant to be the main striker and given opportunity to take shots on goal

Pzzz:

The problem is positioning

When Musa runs with the ball, the super eagles strikers should immediately go and POSITION themselves,so that when Musa crosses someone is already there to finish up the job.

Pls pass the message to Rohr.

Good analysis. wink

They should give someone else a chance to play that ighalo position.
Ighalo plays well when he is not starting.
He looks like someone that likes reading the match before entering the field

They should just play to his strength as he can be a prolific scorer. smiley

Have you noticed that Ahmed Musa is being unselfish the but the problem is he passes the ball to ighalo who either waste it or the ball is passed to no one in particular

Please let someone tell the coaching crew this
Musa is doing the work of a winger. His mission is to run down the line and create chances from the outside into the 18 box. He does that fairly well but most of his balls are wasted because you hardly find players in the box when his crosses come in.

Ighalo is an incredible finisher, to be fair but he lacks positioning just like Higuain. Speed is obviously not his strength. Musa might not take on the opponent's goalkeeper head on if he doesn't find his way into the 18 box. Him being selfish would mean every tiny chance he gets would be blasted into space, or at best, we get a corner kick.

The proper thing would be to ask the winger to spot out his man and counsel the striker to be more mobile and move when the winger poses a threat to the opposition.

Don't expect every winger to be like Ronaldo. It's unfair.

He needs only a partner he can team up with to run like Victor Moses.
If that whole team run, we go chop counter goals

Musa passes the ball too early to Igahlo who is either marked out or yet to get into good position. Musa shouldn't be too excited to release the ball early. He should show discipline and contain his excitement.

What is speed without intelligence?

Good catch. cool

And who said am not watching. You think it's easy to play football on the pitch. You all sit back and be talking as if you can do better. If the op is that good of an observer why not direct the post to his instagram or twitter handle so he can see it himself.
The main point is that the observation and advice is uncalled for on NL if it will make no difference.

1. We are not professional footballers, so it is not our job to play football

2. People discuss football all over the world. Football analysis is a field itself. You cannot stop people from analysing football.
