Ighalo is the only problem we have in that team. He waste opportunities a lot. I don’t know WhatsUp with rohr and not replacing him
Rohr should replace him with who ??

No, he passes to no one. He doesn't pick anyone to pass to. He just pass the ball hoping that a SE player will be there
That's not the problem, ighalo movement in the box 18 is poor.

I said it before, Ighalo is never a striker u can rely on. His positioning is zero. Most of those balls musa passes in ought to be converted . How would a good striker see his 7 or 11 moving in and he still remains outside the six yard box, doing what? Abegi!

I think you watched the back of your TV. In our last match, Musa only made one good parallel cross and players were there just that the ball was a poor diagonal cross.every other cross was wayward. Anytime you guys blame Ighalo, he silences you on the pitch. You did not even blame Musa for not being able to cross a ball to the centre of the pack but blaming Ighalo......when Musa cut in and layed the ball for another player, he failed to look up and it was another wayward pass. The role of a 9 is not as easy as you think. A 9 needs to be fed well and as it stands, Ighalo is our best striker whether you like it or not.
if not for ighalo the she would have long left this tournament and they are here spewing trash, musa can run fast but his passes are often very poor either too far out of the penalty box or too close to the keeper. there are even instances where he was in a better position to go for goal but ended up passing the ball.

The only sensible guy here, musa's end product is terrible, doesn't knw when to pick a pass and tends to jst lay them and hope someone, somehow connects it
That's not it, ighalo is not active in the box 18.

Its ighalo position that is the problem.
He is never in the right place when musa cuts in and pass the ball.
Ighalo should understand Musa cos' when once he's with the ball the next thing is for him to cross. Musa believe Ighalo should position and get the ball and put it at the back of the net. Meanwhile both of them don't understand each other.
Re: AFCON: Ahmed Musa's Unselfishness Is Causing Us Problems by facts1234: 12:04pm On Jul 12
The midfield in the first game was not as effective as their last game's.

How many passes did Onuachu receive as a striker? He was lone upfront most of the time. One can not really blame Onuachu in the first game.

Given the opportunity,he will still gel and become a great striker in GWG after this tournament.

I am not in anyway blaming Ighalo. ALL WE are asking for is if Ighalo is not as effective in a game as the last game, Gernot Rohr should bring in Onyekuru.

Ighalo was effective in the Cameroonian game, he wasn't in the South African game. Why stick to him all through 90 minutes when we have Onyekuru on the bench?

Stephendeals:

They gave another person in the first game and nothing happened till he came to the rescue just 5 minutes after he entered the fray!

Ighalo is still the highest goal scorer in this tourney!....

The only problem i can say for Ighalo is positioning but for wastefulness i beg to differ

Ighalo is really a poor finisher. His movement in the box is really poor.

The problem with most of you is that you think of football in terms of Play Station games. Ighalo is not Musa's problem. Musa's problem is that his crosses and passes lack accuracy!

Wing play is not merely a matter of running down the flank and putting in any sort of cross at all. The crosses must be accurate or at least dangerous. Time and time again Musa kept kicking the ball without any forseeable accuracy and that is why the coach had to remove him and put on Simon in the last game.

Have you noticed that Ahmed Musa is being unselfish the but the problem is he passes the ball to ighalo who either waste it or the ball is passed to no one in particular

Please let someone tell the coaching crew this

This is how Myths are created. From the start of this tournament has Musa completed up to three passes to Ighalo in the box? I remain ready to eat humble pie if you can confidently say yes.

Musa has been doing this in all the games he has started so far. He dribbles well, creates an opening and then passes it either straight to the nearest defender or lofts it over everyone's head.

Why do fans delight in picking on Ighalo?? The man is our top scorer. Against Burundi you all saw that there was virtually no prospect of scoring until he came on. He makes the runs but he needs intelligent passers and runners around him.

The strikers are lame. Musa doesn't have to target someone everytime. Once the strikers and midfielders see him running the flanks with the ball, technically they are supposed to run at par with him to the centre and wait for the ball.
That's what makes Ronaldo good in the box. He moves along line with the Left or right forwards and gets to the box.
Musa after running top speed is being marked by defenders, the room for accurate pass to anyone in particular is slim. They are supposed to wait in the box and fight for the ball.

Ighalo is LAZY.

We were just lucky to have won SA.

Thank you sir!

The sense of anger i feel when i read some of these posts. As if Ighalo should just magically appear wherever Musa decides to hit the ball to.

I don't even blame Musa. The coach should know that Musa is better at dribbling to shoot not dribbling to cross, especially when you put him on the left.

it seems you are watching different football, higuain is classic no 9, with a great sense of positioning, benzema is good with holding the ball, that is why he drifts wide most times, higuain has more presence in th box than benzema , sometimes benzema do come to the midfield to collect ball, i have never encounter any football site ( foreign) that asserts that benzema has more positioning in the box than higuian, i dare you to share any if you have.......or maybe the positioning you are talking about is another thing entirely
FIFA 19 RATINGS
POSITIONING
HIGUAIN 92
BENZEMA 85
Thank you for correcting the guy. Benzema had better ball control and team play, that's why he was preferred to Higuian, since Ronaldo would benefit more playing alongside Benzema than Higuain.
Higuian though, had better positioning and shooting than Benzema

Exactly he passes to no one, and that's his problem... A typical German team will dart the ball out towards the penalty kick spot and watch how goal will happen, but Musa will volley it high over the face of the goal.

That's the aspect he needs to work on
Oga read his comment very well

This thread is useless. typical of how ungrateful Nigerians can be. If he doesn't pass they'll say he's selfish, now they blame Ighalo who has been outstanding picking balls by fallen deep making the play making position easy for Iwobi plus 3 goals, on the verge of being the highest goal scorer. How many have the almighty salah and mane score more than Ighalo.. This nonsense of blaming Ighalo must stop. I wish watching football is strictly for those who play. All this JB's who've never kicked a ball are the ones making noise

It’s not exactly musa’s fault he plays faster than the team. The rest of the players are not used to his style to place themselves in the right positions while he creates space opening up the oppositions defenses. His balls end up going to no one because the rest are just looking instead of placing themselves properly.

if only our front line can emulate Algeria front line, SE will be difficult to beat. That is what we are missing! Simply laying a basic ground abi low ball for team mate to latch on immediately has become jamb question.

easier said than done. do u think it is easy being a lone striker surrounded by 3 or 4 defenders? even mo sallah could not do much in this tournament when he constantly had about 2 or 3 defenders closing him down.
Not easier said than done, he is a top striker not lone striker. He's not effective in his judgement. Salah is not a top striker, he plays from the wing but always deadly because of his craftiness

Isn't that what wingers do? They pass into space not to player. So end of, it largely depends on the goal-poaching skills and movement of the striker in the box.
