Here is a summery of what transperd the last time we meet. The one after this was cancelled they were awaeded 3 point and 3 goals

Super Eagles beat Desert Warriors 3-1

The Eagles now top their World Cup qualification group, four points ahead of second-placed Cameroon.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria sounded out a message of warning to their group counterparts as they defeated the Desert Warriors of Algeria 3-1 in their 2018 World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

Eagles’ technical adviser, Gernot Rohr showed his attacking intent for the game as he started with a frontline that included in-form players like Victor Moses, Alex Iwobi, and Kelechi Iheanacho.

Algeria looked a bit shaky as Nigeria controlled proceedings in the early stages, with in-form Chelsea winger, Moses troubling the Algerian defence with his pace and trickery.

The Algerians were largely reduced to limited time on the ball in the midfield area and kept away from Daniel Akpeyi who replaced the injured Eagles’ number one goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme. The goalkeeper was finally called into action when he pushed away a Yacine Brahimi shot in the 23rd minute.

Nigeria’s dominance over the Warriors finally paid off in the 24th minute when Moses latched onto a John Mikel Obi pass and ran at the Algerian defence; he misplaced a pass into the path of Algerian defender Hicham Belkaroui before stealing it back and slotting it coolly past Raïs M'Bolhi to give the Eagles a much deserved lead.

The star was booked for taking off his shirt in jubilation.

The Eagles kept their dominance as shortly after their lead, M'bohli had to come out to punch a Moses cross after the winger had been fouled. Iheanacho almost nodded in another Moses cross in the 29th minute after the Chelsea star played in the Manchester City striker.

Akpeyi had to run out of his box to snuff out the threat of a through ball heading towards his goal and Brahimi picked up the loose ball in his half, did well to skip past a couple of Nigerian defenders and pass to Nabil Bentaleb who wastefully flicked the ball over the net in what was Algeria’s best chance of the game.

Only minutes later, Riyad Mahrez missed another great opportunity for the Algerians.

After a defensive mix up in the Nigerian defence, the ball fell to the Leicester star on the edge of the Nigerian goal and he fired low, inches away from the post in what was a disappointing effort from the midfielder.

The Algerians kept on their momentum and Islam Slimani ran onto another through pass in the Nigerian box, but he was closely followed by the goalkeeper and fired away waywardly.

Shortly after, in the 40th minute, Nigeria got a second goal that deflated the Algerian team.

After some nice passing of the ball near the Algerian box, Nigerian captain, Mikel Obi found himself on the end of an Etebo pass and one-on-one with the goalkeeper after he had been clearly kept onside by Aissa Mandi; after a little hesitation, he fired past the Algerian goalkeeper amid a wave of protests from the Algerian players.

The Algerians had another good go at the Nigerian defence as they started a move that ended with a Mahrez shot being deflected over for a corner which was the last action of the first half with the Eagles in a commanding 2-0 lead.

The second half started with a more motivated Algerian team that relentlessly attacked the Nigerian defence going close twice in the 50th and 52nd minute.

Georges Leekens' side came close to getting a goal back as Slimani shot well wide of the post after a couple of Algerian players mishit the ball in the box.

Another shot came whizzing past the bar in the 58th minute much to the frustration of the Nigerian goalkeeper.

The Algerians finally got a breakthrough in the 67th minute as Bentalab collected a pass close to the Nigerian box, and with little pressure from the Nigerian defence, fired in a left footed strike that left Akpeyi helpless.

The Algerians had a penalty shout waved away in the 72nd minute, and the referee only awarded a corner kick.

They played with more confidence and kept their assault on the Nigerian defence, coming close again with another angled shot.

They were awarded a dangerous freekick in the 80th minute after fine defensive play from William Troost-Ekong halted a promising Algerian attack.

The resulting freekick took a deflection off the Nigerian wall and looked dangerously close to going in.

Nigeria finally came to life in the dying minutes of the game, as substitute, Ahmed Musa broke down the left from a Moses pass and squared the ball to Iwobi at the far post but the ball was cleared away before the Leicester City player was adjudged to have been offside.

He came back minutes later and shot wide into the sidenetting after Moses tussled for the ball with the Warriors’ defence.

Motivated by the loud home support, Nigeria started to gain a measure of dominance as Man of the Match, Moses threaded in another good ball that was missed by the onrushing Iheanacho.

The Manchester City striker shot wide minutes later after a good cross from the right from Musa.

Moses finally had the last say in the matter after he scored his second goal of the evening in added minutes to effectively end the contest.

The victory means the Eagles now top their World Cup qualification group with six points, four points ahead of second-placed Cameroon who played a 1-1 draw against Zambia who have just 1 point, the same with Algeria.

Our players are capable of burying them but it all depends on the coach and his tatics, he needs to use the right players.

Let's not also forget that a whole senegal lost to them in the group stage.. The same senegal we couldn't win.
This is football. It is not calculate like that.

This is Algeria's cup, so sad we have to meet them in the semi's. Losing out in the final would have been better
This was how people thought the South Africans would "chop" us raw but yet nothing happened.

I have this feeling that Algeria will not be able to contain our attackers especially now.

On a good day out defense can deal with the Algerian attack. the real battle is in the midefeld and whoever is able to utilize the midfield best will come out onto with luck.

Those Algerian players are too good.
It would have been better if we meet any other team.
It is better that we meet them now, and let s test their resolve.I have this feeling that they won't be able to contain us once we start attacking them.
If Musa and Chukwueeze are set loose constantly by dead balls from Iwobi dem no go see our break light.

If Eagles want to make any form of impression on Algerians, Ighalo must play on the bench. This is the time to bring Onyekuru, a speedster, to keep the Algerian defenders honest.

We will win 1-0. Iwobi will score our only goal. An Algerian player will get a red card. I'm not a psychic I just have a Time travel machine that lets me see future events before everyone else.

Both teams would score.

We don't have good goalkeepers and our defense is worrisome. There is no how a high scoring team like Algeria will fire blank against us. They will get at least a goal.

As for the Algeria vs Côte d'Voire match, the Ivorians had themselves to blame. They should have buried the Algerians as early as within the first 20 minutes but they kept throwing away clear-cut chances like amateur footballers.

Nigeria must never make this mistake. If only we had at least one clinical finisher. Irrespective of that, we must take our chances and score early.

Jersey has nothing to do with performance. This is the same way Nigerians believe PRAYERS will lift them out of poverty undecided

Yeah, performance has nothing to do with Jersey but one thing I have noticed & i believe many Nigerians have also noticed is that we are most likely to lose each time the boys put on the Green Jersey.

It has been happening for long, even before the jerseys were rebranded.. That plain green has always brought us ill luck...

Let me sight practical instances with the most recent events.... Flash back to the just concluded world cup, you will notice the only game we won was against Iceland and it was the only time we wore the white stripped Jersey.

Look at the current AFCON, in the 3 games we have played & won we wore the white stripped Jersey. Our only defeat came when we wore the green against Madagascar.

You may call it mere coincidence, but when a coincidence becomes recurrent, then people will get suspicious & begin to ask questions.

LOL! You people make me laugh aswear grin grin. You wanna base your arguments based on our loses to Croatia, Argentina and Madagascar abi.

Croatia - Croatia was considered as the homeside so automatically they are supposed to go with their first kit which white and red, we are not expected to wear our white and green so we thus went for our away kit. We didn't lose to Croatia because of kit, we lost 2 nil because they were the better side hands down as they won the midfield battle. The highlights are on YouTube you can go re-watch them.

Iceland - you will argue that we won them because of kit but we won because we outclassed them. From possession to shots on goal to shots on target.

Argentina - we all watched this game. Poor defending cost us this much and not kit. Omorue wasn't following up with Messi when he scored, and the 86 minute winner by Rojo came as a result of horrible defending. We should have drawn that match but Rohr was defensive instead of pressing forward.

Madagascar - team selection cost us. Coach rested top players in a watch we didn't need to lose. The man even refused to put chukwueze. A game we could have tested guys like onyekuru and Osimhen but he was making horrible subs. I can't tell if we lost because we underrated them or he wanted to come second intentionally so as not to follow the other route but this has nothing to do with kit.

We are going to be playing Algeria tomorrow, as you may have it, they have the homeside status tomorrow, that means they get to wear their WHITE HOME KIT. Automatically, that means we are expected to wear the green kit except Algeria decide themselves they wanna wear the green, only then we can wear our white

Guy leave performance analysis, we are talking about a particular trend here and I didn't draw my conclusion based on those 3 matches alone, I only picked the most recent ones that are still very fresh in our memories.

You can go way back in history and you will observe that our loses in green is far far greater than in white... It's just an observation that i and millions of other Nigerians have noticed.
