Working doesn't make you a slave, just that some work environment are toxic.

If you run your own stuff, eventually you re going to need to bring in more hand, that wouldn't mean you're enslaving them, would it.

It's honorable to work, and running businesses takes extra grit that not everyone is cut out for

You are right. Luckily, work that requires a boss to control you isn't for all of us. I wish those who love work the best.

We are too lazy for work, so we opted for business, and from business to investment. From investment to rest of mind. No time for depression.

I’m a technician for specialized firms and when I have a break from work I blog and freelance online.
So my life is a combination of sitting idle using my brain (blogging or freelancing) and moving constantly (my main hustle).

I honestly never dreamt I could earn the kind of salary I earn today, but! Zero peace of mind. Everyday is pressure upon pressure, no chance for mistakes. Alot of my colleagues now have hbp. It's that bad. Imagine being depressed on a Sunday just because the next day is Monday. cheesy

How many people actually enjoy Work-Life balance ?

If not Civil Servants !

I don't see how anyone working in a corporate environment who starts work before 7am daily and ends by 6pm will be HAPPY on his job.

It's a Suffering and Smiling thing.

There are jobs and there are corporate jobs!
I've been to three offices at Victoria island and ikoyi while working as a logistics officer for a building construction company.
Apart from the decent amount of money these folks get at the end of the month, they were given flexibility to either resume by 8am and close by 4pm or 9-5pm and weekends are off except you've got unfinished tasks during the week.
These people apply for a year sabbatical to go study abroad and when they return their jobs are safe.
They take time off work during the week to attend to their issues and come back later in the day to do their daily activities .
There are still good jobs in this country, the sorts that makes a 40yr old look like a 28 yr old.
May God connect us to our destiny helpers.

Due you juts belittled your self, Nigeria's problems can be fixed, if only we are ready for now nobody wants to put heads together to get this done, we are too occupied with the tribalism and other BS.

Baba, enough of this country can be fixed encouragement especially with the Cabals and long throat oldies parading themselves as politicians even those younger ones we thought might be revolutionist (Yahya Bello, Dino Melaye, Gbajabiamila, Desmond Elliot are all birds of the same feathers ). This country is in ruins, its high time we accept it, so we could all find our safety nets.

So, how do you plan to survive?
Surviving is extremely easy if you have digital skills, know marking, and copywriting skill. After reading this, open Google and type: "What is Copywriting." (Not copyrighting).

I'm not afraid of survival, I'm only afraid of lots of people who will hate me because I'm surviving differently.

You see, for a man to survive without a job, he needs 3 crucial skills.

1. Handling Women Skill
2. Digital Skill
3. Financial Management Skill

Any man who fails to learn 3 of the skills above will surfer either in the hands of women, in making money, or in keeping money and reinvesting it.

If one of the skills above is missing in your toolkit as a man, trust me, it will hunt you for life. I have read countless stories of men who have skill 2 and skill 3, but they suffered because they lacked skill 1.

They tried to manage the money they have, but women brought them down or at least, frustrated them. Heartbreak, depression, etc. They'll begin to make statements like, "I can't believe it. You, Mary, you — after all I did for you. I paid your school fees, I bought you this, I bought you that. I showed you love, but you had to pay me back this way." Whenever I read a post by these types of men, I know skill 1 is missing.

If you you have skill 1 and skill 3 without skill 2 — a digital skill, you'll end up working and being a slave to your boss — yes, you'll make money, but someone else controls your time. Time is the real money. All the billionaires you see today don't play with their time. All the thousandnaires you see today play with their time.

If you have skill 1 and 2, but lack skill 3 — financial management, you'll suffer at the end. So, the above three skills are a must if you must survive in a country filled with visionless leaders and lack of opportunities for the masses.

The reason I'm always confident in whatever I do in life, is because I have those three skills. (Let's assume I have money). If I lose all my money today, I'll just laugh and start afresh — no big deal, no suicidal thoughts. Someone without these 3 skills will consider suicide. Though, I won't be happy, but with the help of those skills, I'll make it up in at most 4 months time or worse, 1 year.

When you spend time to legally and legitimately know the steps to true wealth, you can always rebuild the house when it catches fires and gets burnt.

Sadly, most Nigerians don't know the true steps to wealth. They think it's about go to school, graduate with first class or 2.1, get a job, marry a bleached up slay queen, and start populating the world with offspring, then put them in expensive schools and start doubling your hustle to meet up. I call it catching up with the Joneses.

Let me stop before I hurt some of the readers. I'm too raw and blunt with my words, so make I no hurt pessin pikin under freedom of speech.

Not depressed though but I find it annoying nd heartbroken when one isn't engage in his or her schedule of duties simply because one oga is compensating family and friends with contracts and duties suppose to be done by inhouse staff.
I just the use the time to acquire skills nd more knowledge to enable plan my exit strategy.

Waking up to go to work was my worse nightmare nothing made me happy about the job from being threatened about being sacked to being forced to sell expired products. Even though the pay was ok I was never happy. I took courses to enable me switch to marketing from sales but my move were not looked at as no godfather to help me climb the career chain. Eventually lost the job and given peanut as benefit.

Despite no steady income I'm so happy now as an online taxi driver. I see life in a different perspective now, the air feels cooler and colours looks brighter. Thank God for the gift of life.

Not in Nigeria bro.

I put it to you that a lot of employees ain't happy with their job. The question is, How can you quit when you have bills and unusual responsibilities to battle with?

Well, I think its easy for a lady to quit, but not for a man. Its not easy being a real Man in naija o. There are a lot of negative forces hindering your upward mobility, and one of them is a negative work environment. It's quite common in Nigeria.
I can help you quit
