We can't give what we don't have (creative juice). To me, Rohr did well. Got to the Semi-finals of a 24 team AFCON without a creative MF and made Algeria sweat. If this team keeps improving in all aspects, I forsee us winning the 2021 AFCON.

Honestly IMO Ndidi is not better than Onazi at the DMF position. At least at international level. He can barely win the ball back at times. Onazi would have bossed that midfield.

To me, Ighalo is crap buh he is the top striker in this Afcon and has the coach's trust. To komekn, Awaziem is crap but he has been one of the best full backs in this afcon and has the coach's trust. Bro stop being too emotional, dis is just a game.

There is nothing to build on. It is not as if the team has a well defined playing pattern that another coach can build on.
The only thing that Rohr brought to this team that should be maintained is the pool of talents, even that one self is due to the recent improvements in the U17 and U20 not exactly Rohr.


People keep on hammering on building on what Rohr has established, what has he established? Spain, Germany and other teams have well defined patterns of play, that is something you can build on, but after three years we don't even know if our team is a counter attacking team or a possession based team. IMHO, there is nothing to build on.

Then again people asking for a tactician as an assistant to Rohr, at the end of the day Rohr will still have the final say, so hiring a tactician does not in anyway mean that our team will suddenly start playing well. The tactician can only advice and since Rohr's nature is already as it is, he may still remain conservative and that would just amount to a waste of tax payers money. IMHO a coach should also be the tactician, and if Rohr who earns well over 40k USD per month cannot be both, then that money I am certain can get us a serviceable coach who has a tactical acumen

For the players we had on the field there was only way we could have played and it was seen & effectively nullified.

I still wonder who does the selection in the national team.

We need to reinforce the mildfield with fresh players. The likes of Eberechi Eze, Tega Onomah, Ovie, Semi Ajayi (if he moves away from league one), Joe Aribo (if his team gets to play in Europa League and he performs), Ramon Azeez (if he gets to play in the la Liga this season), Abdul Ajagun (if he gets to play in the Belgium Pro League or a better league this season), Azubike Okechukwu (if he gets to play), Nnamdi Ofoborh (if he gets game time in EPL), Dele Bashiru (if he gets to play in a decent league), Aniekeme Okon (he should be given the chance), Kingsley Michael etc.


We should draft in more players in the attack to make it competitive.

Lookman Ademola, Issac Success and Noah Bazee should slog it out for the wings position.

We should watch out for Sheyi Ojo (fc Rangers) and Bobby Adekanye (Lazio). They can be a good addition for the RW position alongside with Noah Bazee and Isaac Success. Chukwueze should be given the competition to bring out the best in him.

Lookman Ademola can slog it out with Simon Moses and Henry Onyekuru on the LW. Enough of makeshift players.

Ahmed Musa should be moved to SS or S position.

In the striker position, Olanrewaju Kayode, Taiwo Awoniyi and Sunday Odey should be given the chance to prove themselves. They should slog it out with Osimhen and Ighalo.

We can watch out Josh Maja and David Okereke.

In the defence, we need to bring back Idowu to slog it out with Collins on the LB.

Ebuehi and Aina should slog it out for the RB position. Then, Tomori should be chased after to represent us. Uduokhia should be added into the team.

The goalkeeper department is one the problems we have. The goalkeeper trainer should be sacked and replaced with a more competent one. Then, we are good to go.

Shut up Mr thats not why he plays in Turkey. He is a Centre back, not a wing back, he is a make shift RB in this afcon so u cant judge him by that. Iorfa is a RB but still hasn't done nothing of note thats why he was demoted to the youth team at Wolves before he got released

I have explained before. Mismanagement of the team. Lack of support from the NFF, unpaid bills and allowances and finally being played on a poor pitch which was an advantage to the opposition.

I think they played over 50 games and did not lose any. That team only lost once.

Daniel Akpeyi could be shipped out by Kaizer Chiefs ahead of the new PSL season according to reports in South Africa.

Akpeyi joined Amakhosi from Chippa United in January after a season-ending injury to first choice goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune.

As a result, Khune who is also Bafana Bafana’s first choice missed out on a place in Stuart Baxter’s team to the AFCON 2019.

While He is expected to make a return in the 2019/20 season, that could also mean Akpeyi drops to third, in the pecking order.

H/T Soccer Laduma, Kaizer Chiefs have nine players on their books that are not born in South Africa, although only seven of them need to be registered as a foreigner for the 2019/20 season.

The Premier Soccer League’s rules allow clubs to have five non-South Africans registered at any one time, however if the player receives permanent residence – like Khama Billiat and Willard Katsande – they can be registered as a local.

With Kambole, Kotei and Nurkovic all set to be registered following their arrival, there are exits on the cards for the club’s other foreign players, though the decision on which two will be registered should become easier if/ when Hadebe secures a move to Yeni Malatyaspor in Turkey.

I am equally not in support of Amuneke as the Head coach of Super Eagles. Not with the current scandal involving his AFCON outing with Tanzania's Senior team. Neither am I in support of our local coaches getting the Job. They would be owed salaries and would resort to unscrupulous means to get money.

I even have mixed feelings on using a local coach as a technical assistant. Look at Alloy Agu and the GK dept. We don't want another Mohammed Gambo, Azubuike Egwueke or Flavor in the team. Hence my mixed feelings. The only person I would allow near the team is Finidi George who currently coaches Mallorca u-18 team and had initially offered to coach one of our youth teams for free.

I would actually prefer a foreign technical assistant with a proven track record. None comes of the top of my head for now but I would do my research and post names here.

Player selection was at the root of our MF troubles in the AFCON

How can you invite just 4 MFs with a regressing Mikel as the only playmaker among them. Rohr takes the wrong kind of risks. Yet you invited as many as 7 (or is it 8 attackers) and started just 4 for almost the entire duration of the tourney.

Now, the creative force got injured and we had to rely on long balls to our wingers to create chances. Cut that long ball supply and Baba Rohr ran out of Ideas.

I don't expect Rohr to make the same mistakes with player selection again for our next challenge (qualifiers). If not, we get same results. An old man ought to be wiser

We were not just missing a creative outlet, but we also played with no cohesion and it showed. In fact, the only good game we played throughout all the whole tournament was the second half against Cameroun. Rohr's system is to just pack the bus and try to get opponents on a counter. We don't move the ball quickly and that small build up makes it difficult for the team score goals. And the lack of movement, especially in the midfield, makes it difficult for us to strings more than 3 passes together.

I laugh when I hear folks blaming individual players. To me, our main problem was the system not the personnel.

See how Mahrez was drifting inside pulling players with him? that's what I expected from us (Similar to how Chukwueze played against SA)

That said, with the squad we had there's no way we wouldn't have hit brick wall.
