TheGoodJoe:Oh please, what intensity? Hard press or what. Where's the conductor that'd instigate the "intensity" |

Earthquake2:The point is time. Amunike was in the group of death and what played out was expected before the whistle was blown in the tournament. It will take time to turn mediocres like Tanzania to compete in such unfavourable group. Rohr on the other hand had a plethora of quality players but chose to set up in a mediocre way. I am okay with losing while teaching the team to play in an offensive brand but I find it ridiculous playing conservative for results because in the end, the team is not growing. Our best chance to get a good grade coach who understands the possessive philosophy and can impact that knowledge lies with Amunike. Someone who has trained and worked with some of the masters. If you still want conservative footie, good for you. As for me, the philosophy comes first and with time, the result. Rohr does not have the philosophy. |

Earthquake2:You're right We need 3 creatve MFs 2 CBs and 2 fullbacks 3 GKs 2 strikers. Not make shift. Natural Strikers Continous improvement is key. We need to stimulate more competition in the team |

komekn:Shut up Mr thats not why he plays in Turkey. He is a Centre back, not a wing back, he is a make shift RB in this afcon so u cant judge him by that. Iorfa is a RB but still hasn't done nothing of note thats why he was demoted to the youth team at Wolves before he got released |

Don't blame Rohr he has always said semifinals was his target. He couldn't see beyond that long ago. We thought he was only trying to sound humble. |

andrew444:Hahahahaha nawa oo, u no wan catch feelings again? Guy we all want the best for this team, hence our choices will always differ. No matter how harsh I am on Ighalo it can never change anything, like wise other guys' opinion on other players in here. To me, Ighalo is crap buh he is the top striker in this Afcon and has the coach's trust. To komekn, Awaziem is crap but he has been one of the best full backs in this afcon and has the coach's trust. Bro stop being too emotional, dis is just a game. That said, Ighalo is an anywhere-bele-face striker ![]() |

ChrisKels:Yes awaziem has been one of the best full back in this afcon and if i am to name my team of the tournament he will be there I see you the emotional detector As if you have a world class striker or any striker better than ighalo, you should be happy he is 30 so his days at the eagles are numbered. |

We were not just missing a creative outlet, but we also played with no cohesion and it showed. In fact, the only good game we played throughout the whole tournament was the second half against Cameroun. Rohr's system is to just pack the bus and try to get opponents on a counter. We don't move the ball quickly and that slow build up makes it very difficult for the team to score goals. And the lack of movement, especially in the midfield, makes it difficult for us to strings more than 3 passes together. I laugh when I hear folks blaming individual players. To me, our main problem was the system not the personnel. O pari Odunayaw: |

TheGoodJoe:One can't play with intensity if there's no "conducting" midfield. Do we have such? We were limited to long balls down the flank because there is no trust in the midfield. My question is who would conduct that intensity you are clamoring for? Seeing that intensity without IQ would lead to gassing out |

darkelf:If Isaac Success was on the wing yesterday, he will perform better because he can work in tight space. Besides, you are very funny. Taiwo Awoniyi who has been tested in a better league should prove himself in the U23 first but Odey and Okereke who are yet to impress in the same league Taiwo Awoniyi already impressed should be rated highly. Ummmm! What kind of bias scale of measurement is this? Why the question mark on Olanrewaju Kayode? Is the name the problem or his record? Who is our deputy LB behind Collins? |

darkelf:As for isaac success i disagree as you said he is not playing regularly, just say he is not getting the goals Success started more than 10 epl games this season and he played better minutes from the bench so how is that not regularly ? Success played 30 epl games from the 38 and the minutes was much, so you want him to play the whole 38 abi? Just say success is not scoring goals, because the watford coach is giving that dude enough minutes |

darkelf:That's if he still remains the coach. He should be gone by now. I may change my mind if he's ready to bring in mildfielders into the team and if NFF will sack all those Nigerian assistant coaches and replace them with foreign technical advisers and foreign goalkeeper trainer. |

Icon79:not against Cameroon, in fact I believe it was a shitshow against them. Anyway you make salient points but you're buttressing my point about creativity, we don't expect the wingers to come and start creating do we? Its the midfield's job. See how Mahrez was drifting inside pulling players with him? that's what I expected from us (Similar to how Chukwueze played against SA) That said, with the squad we had there's no way we wouldn't have hit brick wall. |

True. But my point is that any player would find it difficult to be creative within Gernot Rohr's set up. Bring in Jay Jay Okocha or Kanu Nwankwo into this team and they would struggle. Either one of Iwobi, Etebo, or Mikel can operate in the creative midfield role, but they would still struggle under the system Rohr puts the team through. As I said on twitter after we played Guinea, Gernot Rohr's system reminds me of the Super Eagles team under the late Shaibu Amodu …. the team was wobbling and fumbling but still getting relatively decent results.
