That he expressed his fear doesn't mean he didn't transmit the result to the server.

Ify05:
The Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Mahmoud Yakubu has explained why results of last general elections could not be transmitted electronically, contrary to claim by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its last presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Atiku and the PDP, who are challenging the outcome of the last presidential election before the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT), claimed to have won the election by virtue of some results they got from a certain server, into which they said INEC transmitted the results of the election.

At the resumption of the proceedings of the PEPT on Tuesday morning, lawyer to President Muhammadu Buhari, Alex Izinyon (SAN), played a video, where INEC Chairman said his commission could not transmit results electronically, because of inadequate communication facilities/coverage in the country and the challenge of cybersecurity.

Izinyon further tendered a digital video disc (DVD) which contained the interview Yakubu granted to a private television station, in which he gave details of the challenges of transmitting results electronically.

The DVD was admitted as Exhibit: P85, while the certificate of compliance, tendered with it, was admitted as Exhbit: P86.

nzeobi:
why then did you budget for server?.

Seems you have comprehension challenges.

Firstly, there are different types of servers, including accreditation servers, voters register servers etc. INEC said it did not have a presidential results server.

Secondly ,budgeting for something does not always lead to acquiring such thing.Budgeting is a financial intention.

Its like this: My wife said she will be cooking stew today. And my son was excited. So she parboiled fresh tomatoes with grounded fresh pepper . She also parboiled rice and left to the market to get the rest of the cooking ingredients. My son got back from school and ate the 'stew" and rice! When she got home, he thanked her for the stew, not knowing it was tomatoes only! It took the actual preparation of stew to convince him what he ate was not stew! My wife is INEC! Atiku is my son. Election result in server is parboiled tomatoes. PMB winning is the stew. I am Nigeria-It all happened in my house.

story.....Common sense in IT should tell us that the use of card reader (which was made mandatory) required a central server where data was stored and retrieved to verify voters details. IF a server was not used, where then was the card reader accessing their data from? Except he is saying that it was not used to send results..which is also a lie because most APO claimed to have sent the result from their polling units to headquarters electronically.

Any message sent via SMS is also electronically.

INEC chair needs to go to court and testify under oath

It’s irresponsible to be playing videos of what he said when he can come to court in person, he is in the country, he is still alive and he is still the INEC chairman!

Atiku should just accept the results. If he thinks the tyrant would allow him to win in court, he is pretty deceived. Baba go slow had everything planned from the beginning. Not even Jesus could have unseat him

We need Blockchain for election in Nigeria, it is the only server than can never be hack and still be private with the aid of cryptography. Let employ more technology.

Yakubu please you need not to explain.

We are aware results were never transmitted but the problem is that we are helpless.

As an !POB slave, lowly priced and bought by Atiku, our brains have been milked dry by the exiled pink fraudster. Little wonder why we deserve pity and comprehensive psychiatric care and observations.

Please save us! cry

This man is a bloody liar...even if the results are not meant to be read off the INEC server..that doesnt mean you didnt transmit reult electronically....

You asked all APO1's to transmit results into that card reader adn sent to a particular code....

We know you are not leggally bound to use the result..but its done anyways to crosscheck result that would be physically transported to ABJ for announcement so that they are not manipulated....

Simply admut the truth....liar!
why crying, the man just gave his reasons why it won't be possible to transmit results via the server. or are you the INEC boss? relax and take a chill pill, this case we go the way other presidential tribunal cases ended. Atiku should wait for his turn.

Yakubu you are number one liar in the whole world. I wish thunder will just strike that mouth you use to lie.
I participated in the 2019 general elections as P.O (Presiding Officer) and all my result were transmitted to the server because INEC provided us wife Username and Password to the server, and I transmitted all my result into the server successfully.
Why can't you as a national figure be bold to say the truth.
The username and password INEC provided that I used is still with me.
