I still think they should have stuck with the tested and trusted capacitive fingerprint scanner instead of using an optical in display. If they wanna make in display then it has to be ultrasonic or nothing. To me using an optical in display fingerprint sensor is never an upgrade to capacitive type which could be 100% accurate. Even ultrasonic sef (the ones on galaxy s10 series) are still not 100% perfect. Trust me I've been there done that. There is no way an optical fingerprint sensor is better. Sometimes when u want to unlock with ur fingers u need to try 3-4 times before it unlocks, especially at night. I get this a lot when trying to unlock while driving and its annoying. Sometimes it works perfectly but trust me, when it misbehaves when u need it the most. I'll say its about 80% accurate.

I now understand why Xiaomi decided to not use in display fingerprint in the redmi note 7. I mean its a cheap phone and putting an unltrasonic fingerprint would make it more expensive, but then using an optical sensor won't make it any better so they went with what is tested and trusted and its one of the fastest fingerprints in the game. Its just a gimmick that would die soon, just like the whole notch thing.

Yes I know, I think they should have just gone with the normal capacitive fingerprint scanner which works 100% all the time. I understand that in display fingerprint is trending, but if it's optical it's hit or miss. I use a Galaxy A70 with in display fingerprint scanner and sometimes I feel like smashing the phone because of inaccurate fingerprint. I have recalibrated my fringerorint countless times. Sometimes it just works, but sometimes it refuses to recognize my finger until after 3-4 tries. I've so had 1dt hand experience with OnePlus 6T. Thought it can be improved on in the future especially when they figure out how to allow the finger to be placed anywhere on the display to unlock. But for now optical in display fingerprint doesn't have any advantage over capacitive in my opinion. It even here worse when the screen becomes greasy or s little wet, the damn thing just won't work.

My opinion is this

High end phones: ultrasonic in display fingerprint

Budget phones:. Capacity fingerprint

the phantom 9 is one very good device, and yes it could pass for a budget device considering its specs and the price it goes for.

dont know but i use Airtel, have you tried their new binge plan? i would highly recommend that for downloads cos you get upto 2gb for just N500.
