I don't care if northerners are begging or not, as for me I don't beg and am currently in the south, but at least begging is better than prostitution sir, try not to be tribalistic, it makes u looks somehow uneducated

Reno wrote on his Facebook account as follows:

"Since I was born till today, I have NEVER seen an Igbo BEGGAR. Africa should study this most enterprising ethnic nationality. Nigeria had her fastest GDP growth in 2003-2007 and 2011-2015, under the hand of an Igbo woman named Ngozi Okonjo Iweala. It can't be a COINCIDENCE! The Igbo are an African ethnic nationality that have produced more US dollar multimillionaires, per capita, through their apprenticeship system, than Harvard Business School. Igbos prove that WHO you know takes you farther than WHAT you know #FreeLeahSharibu #RenosNuggets"

https://mobile.twitter.com/renoomokri/status/1152448949749518336

I agreed with Reno on Igbo being the most enterprising ethnic nationality in Africa but disagreed with the GDP growth attributed to Okonjo - Iweala. The international politics behind oil price movement from $9/10 per barrel as at 1999 to the period of heavy oil windfall has nothing to do with Okonjo - Iweala. Between 2011 - 2015 which Reno mentioned was the period of the highest economic mismanagement ever witnessed in the history of Africa till date. What happened to the GDP when oil price fell in 2014? She borrowed to pay salary. They did not save one Kobo, but rather borrowed heavily. The depleted the foreign reserve obj left in 2007 that was in excess of $50 billion. Obj met bonny light our crude oil at $9 per barrel in 1999 with $5 billion in Foreign reserve. In 2008 oil jumped to $118 per barrel and steadily increase. They embezzled the money, enriched their kinsmen and ran abroad. They are self centered and selfish and cunning when it comes to business / money.

On the issue of beggar, Ibos are very hardworking and enterprising. It is very difficult to see IBO beggar, though I have seen very few disabled Ibos begging while in the south east some years ago. They were not permanent. I partly agreed with Reno on this.

There are Igbo beggars. I will be honest. Reno would have been absolutely right if he had said "I have never seen an able bodied Igbo beggar". What I am saying is that Igbo's only have people who resort to begging because they can't, reasonably, fend for themselves. E.g the blind or those suffering from illnesses that they can't handle financially.

This is unlike some tribes with healthy able bodied men begging for alms with bowl. E.g...lol

No you lied at mazamaza the beggars there are usually Igbo begging at parks. Funny thing is that they are mostly not handicapped in any ways. You see good make up work on them to deceive people. In short all tribe have beggars even there are American beggars. Tho the numbers definetly defer but my problem with Reno is why say this ?? Do you think its easy for a human being to throw away his pride and everything to beg??

Reno’s post did not say there are no Igbo beggars,he cleverly referred to himself having not seen an Igbo beggar which could possibly be true based on his level of interaction with igbos.

However, it is undeniable that the Igbo apprenticeship system among other exceptional qualities of the igbos stand them out as a prosperous tribe excluding the many vices that some of their desperate folks are notorious for e.g rituals, kidnapping, fake products, drugs, baby factories and so on.

Generally igbos are ambitious (sometimes wrongly),hardworking, enterprising, intelligent and courageous people.

For instance, till date some of the most intelligent Nigerians I have been privileged to meet are igbos and their records have yet been unsurpassed to my knowledge.

Igbos deserve some accolades so I align with Reno’s fallacious claims within the context of ‘he has possibly never met an Igbo beggar’

You try afonja, but ritual killing is the domain of yorubas by a long long margin, stop ascribing it to Igbos. Be honest!

You people are so devoid of comprehension. Reno never said that there are no igbo beggers, he said he has never seen one, which means to him there are rear, what right do you have to argue about what he has seen or has not.

What's your insinuation when you say you've never seen something in a complex environment like ours? You don't need to clarify his statement if it's really plain as you said.

There are lots of Igbo beggars same as other tribes, although they may differ in numbers... but no tribe is devoid of beggars as no fingers are equal.

Although a typical Igbo man is far sighted seeing a bigger picture, he would rather suffer for 20years for a comfortable end he may not live to see, than pleasures and enjoyment of now that may not guarantee a future comfort.

I think an average Igbo man lives his life in fear of poverty or not being able to provide for his family. Also being majorly business men/women, your growth is 100% factored on your re-investment into your business and not salary earned. which in turn prompts for expansion and venture into other businesses such as real estates to store appreciable wealth it's not being greedy, it just a life of fear of poverty ingrained in their DNA. Which can aswell be found in other acute business men from other tribes.
u totally right this is the major driving force beyond the Igbo man's pursuit for wealth. it is not the matter of get rich quick syndrome as some tribes refer to igbos.

That means you've never travelled.

9th mile, Onitsha, even Abakaliki - Ogoja park, them plenty for there.

Funny enough, even in Ojuelegba, under the bridge, you'll see well known beggars from the east.

Ibo beggers plenty for Lagos. They like singing with one musical instrument.

There's something amazing about Ibo beggers; they are always blind closing their eyes. Other lind beggers open their eyes revealing the sight defects but not Ibo beggers their eyes are always closed

you are wrong Mr Reno. There a lot of Igbos beggars like other tribe in markets and across the country. You can also see them at the ATM point begging for transport fare (fine bara).

Igbos detest begging of all sorts. Igbos that can't fend for themselves are taken care of by relatives. In Igboland it's the relatives that receive the shame not even the begger. If you've ever encountered a begger in any Igbo village or town it will be from a full mad man who's not even aware of his existence.

This is how simple minded fools like you are swayed with propaganda. You will never find a Yoruba beggar in the north or east. Likewise you have to go to the east to find Igbo beggars which are plenty. There are even Igbo beggars in Lagos. Fashola deported some. Go to the east and see plenty Igbo beggars before falling for criminals like Reno and his propaganda.

He is speaking for himself, he has not seen any in his lifetime till date so you saying he is saying trash is to be wrongly accusing someone of his own personal opinion, I have never seen any IGBO beggar either, so does that make me wrong, we must learn to always see issues through the lens of intellectual prowess and not sentiment, I rest my case.
