Slow your roll...Accounting students of Babcock university were charged ICAN fees during my time and had to take classes, compulsorily. It was charged into their tuition fees and Accounting became a 5 year course.

That is very true sha. A school like OAU won't take Accounting for 5years, then, 150k Hell No, that will be the father of all Aluta. In my own opinion, I don't see the benefit in this though, why not just graduate in 4 years and use the service year to write Skills and Professional instead of paying more money, stay one more year in school and still have Professional to write. Afterall, spending 5years studying Accounting is not a basis for passing ICAN exam in one sitting.

This is just a step up to stop our public schs from producing half baked graduate....

Most OF the poly lecturers now have PhD or undergoing one be it geniue or not( academic and research purpose or for promotion sake) .as the uni counterpart does with all the PhD holder in the country where has it get us..

What manner of discrimination is this? Where are all the public federal universities and state universities, no wonder people don't value ICAN anymore. Anyway screw Ican, if I find myself in one of the big 4 accounting firms, I'm opting for ACCA.

Razak Jaiyeola is no longer the president of ICAN. He handed over to Mazi Okadigbo first week of June I think.

The fear of lowering standards by universities is why graduates of participating institutions still need to write the professional stage of the qualifying exams just like all other ICAN students. If these institutions compromise on agreed standards, their students will be exposed at the professional stage.
