Beautyaddy:l agree with you, in the past it was much easier but with my koboko friend called Trump now in power, immigration laws / path to PR / citizenship has been tightened more than before, the 2 people l cited in my post are both legally married back in Nigeria, the lady has 3 kids with his husband, while the man has 4 kids back home, so I don't know how they will play the game, both of them are looking for arrangee marriage to legalized their status, heading to canada for Aduro might be their last option 1 Like |

Kingkun69:You not me, Is the one getting worked up.. I gave a scenario in which any reasonable individual should be able to reason with and appreciate, But you would rather be stucked in your own little world.. Having a US Citizenship is not my ultimate life's ambition, If that is yours then you have achieved all that you have set off to achieve in life.. So congrats on your lifetime achievement.. And if I have an opportunity to travel out of the country, Australia NOT US would be my first choice .. So to each their own.. 3 Likes |

Re: Fleeing To The US ... A Word To The Wise. by salford1: 6:04pm On Jul 25, 2019 |
AnthonyAk:Well. Maybe I over generalised. But I do know that healthcare workers and Engineers earn higher in Alberta/Sask than any other province in Canada. These are the industries I am very familier with. In addition, its cheaper to live in the prairie. An high end house that would cost 4million dollars in toronto or vancouver would only cost about 750k in Calgary, Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg or Edmonton. Cheaper insurance and lower tax too. 1 Like |

globemoney01:I still dont know how you translated my comments to disdain. I only mentioned advantages that the US has over Canada. Both UK and Canada have their merits and demerits. I cant say which is better. But of course I love Canada more since I was able to rise faster in my career with higher pay than when I was in the Uk. Canada has lots of space too. However, i do miss the UK's social life, food, excellent transport system and the ease of exploring Europe. If i was to move to the states, my career and that of my wife would even rise faster with better pay, but we are currently content with what Canada has offered us. The US as per now is only good for holidays for the kids. 9 Likes |

salford1:Even the person you were arguing knows USA is better than Canada but I guess is surprised by how you are making it to look, everyone knows USA is the greatest nation on earth except those living in delusion. You were the most vocal person talking againt Canada despite the fact you have benefited from Canada. I wanted to see if you will also say UK is better than Canada the way you did with US with the way you talked about your last UK visit. |

salford1: 750k will get you mansions in those places , we dey suffer for here |
Re: Fleeing To The US ... A Word To The Wise. by salford1: 6:52pm On Jul 25, 2019 |
AnthonyAk:Maybe not mansions, but atleast high quality homes. I do not blame those that live in those places. Some types of jobs are very scarce or do not even exist outside Toronto or Vancouver. Especially top financial and IT positions, but one can still get cheaper cookie cutter homes in surrounding smaller cities. Although, it might not tick all the boxes of a potential buyer. 1 Like |

salford1: I still don't understand why anybody will be comparing UK with the US. First of all, they are way ages apart. The US is way bigger in size with population and land space than the UK. Without the UK and some other western European countries there wouldn't have been the US. Additionally, the UK is not an immigrant country compared to the US and so that means that the US because of the foundation it was built on has the tendency to advance with more ideas from people from different countries than what the UK will encourage. 3 Likes |

Ugosample:/ Of course. And such story is everywhere else. It is not as if the rest of the world is starving except Americans. Eg. The number of billionaires in China increased from 79 to 476 in the last decade. Isn't that a success story outside of the US? India has higher number of billionaires even with smaller economy than UK, Germany, Australia, Hong Kong or France. I believe everything is relative. / 3 Likes |

InvertedHammer: But there is no country in the world where so many foreign born people succeed on the scale seen in America rags to riches stories of foreign born people in America abound more than any where else the stat is confirmed I researched on it so that is what makes America unique China does not even come close neither do France or Britain And definitely not NiggerArea 1 Like |

InvertedHammer: well..... India has more billionaires that's true But overall.... How many foreign born people made it from rags to riches in India? America is unique in that sense And it's the only country with a "dream" the "American dream" And contrary to what many believe that dream is still achievable in 2019 1 Like |

Ugosample:/ Understandable. But don't forget to look at the other side of the spectrum. Success is success irrespective of nationality. If you listen to Presidential debates in US, you will think the candidates are talking about a third world country. I surmise that it boils down to individual race. A great country is one where the citizens are reluctant to migrate out of the country because the quality of life is remarkable. / 1 Like |

InvertedHammer: in the midst of great countries some are greater And America is the greatest And your premise is not 100% correct more like 80% A great country is one where most of the citizens are reluctant to migrate out of the country FOR ECONOMIC REASON i.e. economic migration Migrating to set up businesses every where (like ndi China na Japan) should not count o it's those fleeing failed States (NiggerArea for example ) that falls in the "not great category" |

Ugosample:How is Nigeria a failed state when she is producing the highest number of dollar millionaires as we speak? The definition of a failed country should be America where millions are moving from the middle class to the working class. The America dream is a facade and in reality a nightmare |

You must have never boarded a plane yourself There is no other country in the west that the citizens complain and outright protest against discrimination and discriminatory laws than in the US. By the way, the UK is the most convenient place for a black person to exist, outside their own continent, anywhere in the world. Racism overtly expressed, certainly not in the UK, try USA with Trayvon Martin and the likes. A country that abolished Jim Crow laws as recent as in the 70s and you are talking about 'super racist.' Google it, some places in south of USA still have segregated proms in High School where black kids have their separate proms from white kids. You must not also watch the news and get your information about US from Jack Bauer and the Kardashians, about how americans, because they are black are screaming 'black lives matter.' . The US population is largely ignorant of the world outside their noses and everyone is identified by colour/race first. Completely wierd for anyone coming from Western Europe. America to many Nigerians is like Nigeria to other Africans and black people around the world after watching Davido, Wizkid and PSquare on Youtube think Nigeria is a great place to live, meanwhile it is the one of the worst in Africa, comparable with the war torn countries in the regiion, to live in as a regular person where very comfortable middle-class citizens are leaving in droves. You need a lot of money to be secure and for the law to work in Nigeria and it's similar in the US because you are likely to get caught up with a stray bullet or get robbed in many low-income neighbourhoods. The US with all its money is the third world country of the West. I understand when sufferhead nigerians who move to US see constant electricity and start talking rubbish. Nobody who is rich or comfortably middle class in Europe would want to live in the US. Nobody! I'm sure you have no idea that prisons close in Scandinavian countries and people sleep without locking their doors and move freely everywhere and 'don't need guns to stop bad guys with guns' or that in the US, majority about 70% would have trouble paying a $400 bill emergency and many people are one ailment away from bankrupcy and poverty and homelessness. I won't bother posting links, google is your friend but stop watching music videos for information about the US. You don't see schools and cinemas being shot up by crazy people with assault rifles (home edition) or gang wars in areas in the US? Or you think because you come from Nigeria the victims could never be you or your siblings? Just look at the some of the retrogressive laws some of the states are passing into law in 2019. There is a lot of money in the US like Nigeria in Africa but living in Botswana or even Ivory Coast is better for a regular person than living in Nigeria. Right now even Nigeria is becoming one of the worst places to live if you are not super rich. Likewise the US, the difference and advantage is that social mobility is a thing in the US. The richest people change all the time and people move up and down the economic ladder. Get your facts right next time, and oh I have lived in some of these countries and speak from experience. If I was Ghanaian, Rwandan or South African and middle class why in the world would I want to migrate to the US of all places to get shot or for me or my children to be called niggers?
