Re: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by mamatwiny(f): 3:22pm On Aug 11, 2019 |
veneza: Did you check if it ruptured? I once had a test where I had an egg that big but never ruptured. It formed a cyst and later started leaking. I conceived with that egg and later miscarried it. So I'll advise you check if yours rupture after growing to full term. If it doesn't, ur doc might consider giving you trigger shot as soon as it is 25cm |

veneza:You think it's ruptured eggs that turns into your periods? No. It's the endometrium or the lining of the uterus that sheds and becomes a period. She gave you good advice. That trigger can make the difference. If a follicle ruptures, it releases the egg which increases the chances of it meeting with the sperm. If it doesn't rupture, it either turns into a small cyst which can naturally go away within one or two cycles or becomes bigger leading to ovarian cysts wahala. 4 Likes |

Re: Anyone Trying IVF/IUI/ICSI (Fertility Treatments)? by mamatwiny(f): 9:17pm On Aug 12, 2019 |
veneza:Still the same follicular tracking. A good hospital or lab does the test 2 to 3times . From the growth rate of your egg, they calculate when you are going to ovulate. They track on ovulation day or next to know if the egg actually ruptured. I told you my experience. Mine didn't rupture, rather it started leaking and the size started reducing. They told me the egg was no longer viable . I went ahead and conceived with the non viable egg but there was no pole at 6 and 8weeks scan . it later miscarried on its own at 10 weeks. During my clomid cycle, I tracked it, but it did not rupture . it turned to cyst. I was scared but the cyst disappeared on its own. I later learnt there are 2 types of cyst; fictional and non functional cyst. It was the next cycle after clomid that the egg didn't rupture BT became non viable due to leaking. |

Sorry about your loss mamatwiny. To add to your explanation, the two types of cysts, functional (where it ruptures and releases an egg) e.g. corpus luteum cyst which supports an early pregnancy with progesterone and non-functional (where it doesn't release an egg) and may cause problems if it doesn't dissolve. mamatwiny: |
