I don't think he is paid for reviews, he just have a soft spot for devices running stock Android.

Madam we all know payments can come in various forms, shapes & methods

Oya lemme use another semantic "gratification". Most top Techtubers receive gratification in the form of exclusive show invites, receiving of pre-launch devices and other PR material etc.

These I think are enough to make one's opinion biased in order to keep receiving such privileges. MKBHD for one has shown the negative effects of such gratifications in recent times.

For objectivity I will rather watch Mrwhosetheboss, Techtablets, UnboxTherapy, Xiaomify etc. Least I forget, I particularly look out for reviewers that buy their own gadgets themselves

This not personal. Somebody posted a YouTube video of a k20 review and before you know it, some guys here said they are unsubscribing because he gave his honest opinion about the selfie camera. Haba!

Who is taking things personal

It's personal because he owns one.

Some people take these things to heart. I've seen a coursemate who smashed his bold 4 when Android users yabbed his phone.

Others opinions may influence how he views his phone hence he has got to defend his property. Otherwise he may become disillusioned and hate it.

If you watched MKBHD's video well and read the comments that followed a whole lot of people didn't have a problem with the selfie camera. I don't know how you now managed to connect a faulty selfie camera unit with Mi 9 SE( Tell me the correlation).

Also he is not the first and won't be the last to get a faulty phone/electronic during reviews. There was an Anker Soundcore pro plus comparison with Tribit and some other speakers I watched by Jimmy Sound room, he criticised the speaker(Anker) only to find out he had a faulty unit after Anker sent him two more speakers to test and give feedback and he stated it on the same YouTube video description to correct the impressions.

Henry had a screen bleed in the Pocophone he bought last year for review, does that take away the functionality of the phone?

The Global version of Mi 9SE, a lot of units got bricked from a software upgrade, does that take away the functionality of the phone.

Midranges - 1 mostly
Entry device - none or 1.
Android One phones - 2 major Android updates.

exactly, 1 thing I like about him, even devices he likes he doesn't shy away from their flaws, in some of his previous reviews, he talked about pixel phones hanging, one plus camera not being that great, (we all know he likes these phones), even miui as he no like android skins reach he still praises some features that makes miui stand out, i don't get why people say he's biased sha, or maybe he's just me

Indians are dear to Xiaomi's heart. I doubt if the China/Global Version of RN5 will get Android Q.
