Palms has five malls two in Lagos, one in Ibadan southwest, one in Enugu southeast and last in Kwara North Central. Fidelity Bank financed all Palms malls in Nigeria
Dude, quit making spurious claims. You are NOT as smart as you try to let on. Besides, you left out the Palms mall at Ota, Ogun state. You are a pretender who loves making false and baseless claims that he cannot back up. Where is your proof that Fidelity bank financed all Palms shopping malls in Nigeria? You don't make such claims without showing proof. I can show you news reports that GTBank singlehandedly financed NestOil's headquater building on the Island. Show proof that Fidelity is the one financing Persiana Group/Palms mall projects or shut the fvckk up. You are not dealing with fools you dumbfvck. Your real problem is the fact that Polo Mall at Enugu is the brainchild of Yoruba investors. Grow up dude. You're not getting any younger.

[quote author=fkj950ax post=80703053]One of the black man's major problem. Either it's my way, or you take the highway.

It's okay, I will take the highway. Not that I cared about your businesss in the first place. Stop misleading the public with false information while doing your business.

PS. Escalator and a State built mall is not an investment. Doesn't qualify under social services which is what a government has as charter with its people.

Malls are dying all over the world. Your governors and mine are building them all over the country. Hospitals and schools aren't investment enough abi?
[/quo

Well said. But you should know that Nigerian politicians understand how we think. They will rather spend money on nonsense to earn momentous praises instead of developmental projects. What is the economic significant of building a mall in a backward country where people can hardly feed themselves? I have this conviction that we Nigerians are too uneducated and uncivilized to create a truly modern society that has its foundation on science and technology. Building malls and other cosmetic projects that our political elites are embarking on are mere false appearances of development. They are not the real development, but a way to deceive Nigerians that we are progressing. But the reality is Nigeria is a backward country with no foundation for industrial development. Without proper investment in education, health, science and technology and infrastructures ,we will continue to mistake appearances of development for development.

its an investment, the state will generate revenue from parking, rented shops.e.t.c. it also helps tourism and places where foreigners visit and spend money if they ever go to the state..

hospitals are for better health.. school is for better literate levels..

hospital is not an investment unless you like seeing sick people and people suffering from diseases, hospitals flourish due to health crisis...

education is a long term investment for government and not a revenue generating investment just like hospitals...
Dude. #IGiveUpOnYou

How can you say healthcare is not an investment?
You dare think hospitals flourish due to health crises?
Education is NOT a long term investment for GOVT. It is the future!

Shopping Mall... Tourism... Parking fees... Rent... Visit and spend money... Are you frigging serious?

What socio-economic benefit has that escalator and that mall provided to those women. They probably walked back home to a house with no light or food?

10mins of excitement in a lifetime of penury and/or struggles.

There aren't enough. Have you seen the States health index data? Including Almighty Abuja and Lagos...

What I said is government has no business in business. Above model of construct, and over to the private sector hasn't worked and still won't work. It won't make a dent in the States IGR.

Business people didn't build all these years because the State Government is competing with them in areas the state shouldn't.
All governors, incl Lagos State, need to get rid of multiple taxation, provide industrial parks (forget all the FTZ elephant project), then local and foreign investors will bring development
You are damn wrong with your statement that government has no business in business. This is what has created a safe haven for lazy Nigerian leaders not to do anything. American and European countries are deceiving the world in the name of so called western democracy and market economy without telling us that colonial rule and monopolisation of technology are some of the reasons behind their development. Nigeria is a typical backward country that relying solely on the so called private sector to generate needed growth will only result in more backwardness. Before the private sector can be the engine of growth, we must have overcome our historical poverty. How do you expect a people who are poor and poorly educated to generate wealth without government involvement? Do your research and you will find out that those who have big businesses in Nigeria today are either former politicians or those who have enjoyed the patronage of the power that be. It is difficult to start from nothing and become a big entrepreneur in Nigeria because most businesses in Nigeria are not based on inventions but rather on imports of Chinese goods and refined petroleum. This is why most Nigerian billionaires all have interests in oil. China is the only country that has rejected the false economic policies of the western world. The Chinese government has been proactively involved in economic development to the extent that today some of the largest corporations in China are government owned. U might have heard of Haier, Hiense, JAC motors, Dongfeng motors, Gree,Howo trucks, JMC motors, XCMG construction equipment maker, and several others. These government owned companies generate millions of employment and billion of dollars in revenues ,thereby laying the foundation for both the private sector and development of other industries. Foreign investment cannot provide the basis for the technological development of a society without the government getting involved. Over the years foreign investments in Nigeria have only been concetrated in low end manufacturing and extractive industries which cannot provide the necessary technology transfer because no country will want to transfer its high-tech technology to another on a platter of gold. I quite understand that Nigerian government is not the type that can manage business, but that is not enough reason to suggest that government has no business in business. The private sector in Nigeria is just to small to do much which necessitates a more government involvement because the government has enough money for research and creation of companies which require huge capital. But my concern is that given the attitudes and nature of our government people, you many not be far from the truth that Nigerian government should not get involved in business.

Let me guess, Peter Obi must have whispered it to your hears alone that he owns Palms Mall, right? Since it is that much of a secret. I know you didn't finish school so I won't ask you to go ask for a refund over your half-baked education. Mora forker will you stop spamming my mention? Guy, for the last time stop mentioning me until you can show incontrovertible proof that Peter Obi and Fidelity bank 'own' Palms Malls, and that all their projects are funded by Fidelity bank, as you claimed. This Reginald person is not even chairman of the board, just a board member like the others. Like I pointed out earlier, Yoruba people are plenty on the board of many Hausa/igbo-centric or owned companies in Nigeria so that is nothing new nor a big deal so it's really strange that you hanging on to such pettiness to drive a moot point.

Your real problem is that you are an unrepentant bigot whom is trying so hard to fabricate an ownership stake that is non-existent. Your ego would just not allow you to acknowledge that Yoruba investors can invest in a common mall at Enugu. Guy, your problem is big. You are too immature and petty. Better grow up. You are not getting any younger.

Nice. Thank your stars for the Yoruba owners (the same folks that own all the Palms malls in Nigeria) that built the only standard Mall in the entire SouthEast of Nigeria, the Polo Park Mall. Na fine mall, I won't lie (though dry). Definitely the finest in the entire SE.
Why are the yorubas always like double-edged sharp knife? catch them in this direction, they'll slip like a snake to another direction, and they can f¤cking lie. i have no problem with their lies but where i have problem is that, they lie and over hype themselve just to get to the igbo nation and other tribes.
