Bro, it is high time you pulled off that yeye tie, shirt and trouser and enter street and find better deal. Think of what you can do to earn money without being under anyone. You can first target 1k per day, trust me, it will get better |

My sec. sch. English teacher back then once told us in class similar story. Don't be discouraged by this little beginning. More greater things ahead. He's now a lecturer even though his salary wasn't that much as expected. He often say something "If no one is willing to make the system better then the next generation will suffer more which is why he choose teaching as his passion". If truly teaching is your passion don't be discouraged then go for it. |

SirWhiteFish:I have been through worse I worked with a school where the propietress insults you in front of the student, talks to you any how because of 15k. The last private school I worked in, I taught English studies jss1-3 and literature ss1-3 for 13k, and December last year we were paid #6500 because we vacated on the 15th. Private schools are slave drivers, I reject it for my worse enemy BTW is the school marvelous treasure |

Front page already. Teaching job in most private school is subjugating. You get trampled upon like a slave. Run for the sake of your self esteem. |

I once taught briefly after NYSC about 8 years ago. The workload was a bit much but I was never owed. Nowadays, all I hear are stories of gloom about how these proprietors and proprietress owe, pay less than agreed salary and still engage them in slave labour. This is what happens when there's no regulatory body to put these bosses to check. |

If the poster is in Lagos, I would have called him to be taken my sister's daughter a lesson three times a week for 15k. Unfortunately, he didn't mention his location. God will put smile on your face. You will soon sing a new song insha'Allah! |

I guess I was a bit lucky.. taught in a school in Ilorin.. starting salary was more than the minimum wage then. Opened a pension account for each staff and the school pays 70% while d staff pays 30% into the pension account every month. welfare packages every December, before I left the school the cleaner was earning 12k. And salary increases every new session. I missed the school but I have my own dream to achieve also. |

SirWhiteFish:You didn’t mention whether the business was making money though - ( just on a moral ground) Nigeria don't have small claims court to handle this type of issues. Very easy! Think outside the box too... instead of just lamenting Good luck |

So sorry about that. It is indeed unfortunate. Please look for other legit things to do. Even though you like teaching, look for another school this period before resumption. PM me for a side hustle if interested. |
