Though the golf course thing was really.....I donno grin
So many things come into play when buying weaponry. Money alone is not a guarantee that you can get weaponry.

In Nigeria's case;

- We don't have the money

- We're facing an Existential Threat from Terrorists groups in the North, and militancy/piracy in the south. Threats that seek to overrun our democracy as we know it.

- We don't have the political clout to get significant EDA like Egypt or many NATO members.

- We don't have a large defence industry.

- We have a very poor tax to GDP ratio, actually one of the lowest in the world. Only 5% tax to GDP. In South-Africa that number is nearly 35%. So, how do you want to fund defence acquisitions?

With our budget, what can we realistically buy?

In 2017, Ankara brokered a deal reportedly worth $2.5 billion with the Kremlin for the S-400.

This is how much a top of the line weapon system cost.

WARSAW, Poland — Bulgaria’s Council of Ministers has approved four draft agreements with the United States for a total of almost $1.3 billion to acquire eight F-16 jets and related equipment from Lockheed Martin

Bulgaria will pay 1.3 Billion dollars for just 8 units of F-16 jets.

Weapons systems are not cheap. If you don't have money to burn like China or the US, you really need to think before you purchase a weapon system.

More so when you're Nigeria that faces internal threats.

Okay therw you are. The hang of bully is complete. Since when did you guys decide what talk about and what not? You jump right into the scene and join your wingman. I was not talking to you, neither was I replying to your comment, you jump right in and continue from where you left off..now it's dissociative disorder you say? I warned you the last time to watch what you say, but you've formed a hang and you feel you can throw insults at your prerogative and insult my mental state again. I have nothing else to say to you. You cross the line again. Do not think for once you will get away with your crude remarks. A new MRAP would cost between 150k to 300K dollars, for a single unit.

So, should I save my money and buyer an S-300 air defence system, when my troops are dying from IEDs in an active war-zone because I imagine the French would bomb me with their shinny Rafales.

Or do why instead spend that money on 900 MRAPs for my troops?

I think I should buy the S-300 air defence system. Shinny cool equipment.
Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Sizzorkay: 9:14pm On Jul 31, 2019
Except those countries, the US included, do not have the money either, all are borrowed, that's a fact.
Every single developed country out there is drowning in debt, Nigeria's debt is pretty low compared, so it's all about having the stomach for accumulating debt, difference is, those countries use the money for good, the fear with Nigeria is, where will that borrowed money land.
US is owing over 18 trillion dollars in debt, think about that amount for a moment , tiny Israel is owing over 88 billion, so yea, if we can do the same, we will have all the toys we need

If the thread is boring to you or him you could create one and let's see how easy it his; bringing in new contents, posting images etc.

This is the dumb guy that said the super tucano is a misplaced priority and he did a video claiming ""NAF CATCHES UP WITH SAAF".

I checked his YouTube channel most of the video he posted has been deleted, simply because his videos are wacked and is here calling the thread content boring and repeated, yet he comes to the boring thread to post his useless video.

You are right. There is no money. Better to use what we have to keep on fighting so the war can drag on and keep costing us all billions of dollars in lost revenue and economic activities.
Nigeria is a really poor country. What a pity. That's why countries like Ghana have better equipment than we do. Indeed, we are so poor that rather than go directly to the manufacturer to buy military equipment we will grant a company set up overnight permission to import military equipment through a third party. Like the tale of the T-72 Ural bought for $85k by a freshly set up Nigerian company and then resold to the Nigerian army for over $2 million each.
We are so poor our defense budget are more than the entire defense budgets of a handful of other countries, and yet these same countries have better equipment than we do.
You talk about the S-400 Triumfator, let me ask you this, does Boko Haram or ISWAP have an air Force? So, exactly what will a top of the line SAM be doing in our inventory?
What a pity we are so poor we are obliged to budget a mere $1 billion just to buy bullet. The thought of our poverty is even making me cry sad

Just for those who don't know
Bulgaria is a NATO COUNTRY (2004)
That means they were obligated to get rid of their Russian made Airplanes and acquire
US made or NATO manufactured Aircraft
with Soft loans from
Uncle Sam.

thank goodness for this wonderful piece of news. However it raises some serious concerns about ISWAP using military vehicles, call signs and uniforms to attack military bases. I read a tweet some weeks ago on Twitter by @fulanNasrullah. He explained in detail how ISWAP was able to achieve this feat. That's what they used in attacking the metele base. Bidexiii, if you're on twitter, visit the guy's handle. You'll be amazed.
Just read these comments now, thanks.

So posting images is now an accomplishment. Do you see how childish you sound? Talking of lazy, I run my own blog DefenseNigeria with over 570 contents, I run my own channel. You spend the day posting pictures from Twiter and public announcements mixed with pictures of dead and decapitated corpses and you are touting your accomplishment. You and your goons Henry and Odunayobhave basically taken over this thread and you are determined to keep posting public relations crap and blood.,.and anyone who dares challenge the absurdity of your comments you pounce on that person. As for Henry he has practically sealed his fate even though he doesnt know it yet.

You are probably a very insecure person in real life for you to vehemently defend this. You've been posting Toyota Hillux truck for 5 years now. When i view thisb thread i have to make sure im not eating because of the photos of mutilated people you keep posting. are you not tired of the same ole crap?
