This is Amaigbo Road, Umuna Orlu, at St Joseph's Catholic Church junction after the rains three days ago. All it needed to avoid this perennial flooding and destruction is complete a tunnel started by Ikwechegh, a former Imo state governor, to drain the floods to a valley about 1 km away. Ikwechegh gave out contract to an Israeli company to dig the tunnel and asphalt dozens of Orlu urban roads then, but immediately Ikwechegh was transferred from Imo, conspirators liaised with the new governor and the contract was cancelled. Since then, Imo governors have been digging underground drainage after underground drainage in Owerri. Orlu never recovered from the cancelled contract.

But since 42 years Imo state was created, it's like Imo state governors are engaged with building a state capital that will touch the sky before salvaging what is left of other parts of Imo state.

IMO STATE

Some Of The Iron Beautification In Owerri Begin To Fall As Imo ENTRACO Is Now Set To Remove Some Of Them .

Do not misinform people. Nothing fell anywhere but rather Imo entraco are dismantling and littering the streets for unknown reasons. To me this is a complete waste of public money to dismantle and destroy what Okorocha built for political reasons. Hopefully the expanded roads will also be reduced.

I believe I'm not the only one here who saw those container loads of stolen doors, used rugs, and other furniture item Okorocha packed at a warehouse along Aba road?

And for all those who claimed Okorocha didn't steal anything from government house, can they clarify where those items came from?

Such a pitiful, shameless petty thievery from a millionaire turned governor.

Don't be deceived by the media hype. Those containers contain things removed from renovated properties belonging to Okorochas not Imo Government. Someone being a Governor does not make his belongings automatically that of the State and moreover they are likely going to be given out.

Like I wrote earlier I am still waiting for new developments to update this thread but I've not seen because Ihedioha is yet to start work. Going by the momentum of the thread during Okorocha we can conclude that this thread will die like the Enugu thread which died with Ugwuanyi. While Chime like Rochas worked from day one till his last day and revolutionized infrastructure, Ugwuanyi seems more fixayed on propaganda to the extent of sponsoring self praise threads on Nairaland but the Enugu thread clearly distinguished Chime as outstanding. Ihedioha will also be a media Governor and will be worse than Ugwuanyi.

OK. Pls what happened to the chairs at the IMO convention centre? Why were they replaced with plastic chairs? What are the red chairs of the convention centre doing in those containers?

Those red chairs are not exclusive to a particular place and is sold by the mall. Let's not take these petty politics serious because they're just distractions from the real issue which is development. EFCC can investigate Okorocha and punish him accordingly if gound guilty. Deep in my heart I believe he is innocent.

I am not a Governor, but even as an ordinary citizen, i consider stealing chairs from a Public event center to be too petty for me.

You are so shameless that you are still defending a common thief who descended so low as to steal EVEN CHAIRS despite occupying the exalted office of Governor? You have no redemption!

This is the Orji Flyover built few months back by the immediate past Gov of IMO State.
When some well meaning Imolites discovered this deliberate death trap positioned by the past administration to end some lives. They called on the Governor of IMO state,Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, for intervention.
Immediately, Ihedioha intervened and closed that flyover to save lives. But some miscreants were blabbing that the flyover is in good shape.
Note, this is the same flyover the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, commissioned about 40 days ago.
Today, action has commenced on that flyover so as to save the lives of IMO people plying through that flyover.
IMO is moving forward under Ihedioha's watch.

Report from: bendovex

But all your pix are just one portion of the said flyover na, snapped from different angles. So, why the complain as if the whole flyover z substandard?

Shut up useless old man. Nkpor flyover never collapsed because it was properly built, it was one of the approach lanes that was eaten by erosion and immediately it was fixed. It is never the same as the substandard shabby Owerri flyover that started collapsed immediately it was completed.

There's no single project done by okoroawusa that's standing today, is it the Owerri culvert tunnel? Which one of them.

Okoroawusa failed woefully as a governor. Stop defending a failure. You should be ashamed of yourself

These are all okoroawusa signature projects that failed almost immediately after completion because they were all substandard shabby projects.

God bless you for posting the picture of that tunnel. The last time I was home was when that tunnel was being built (I believe its the one along Obinze/Futo road). I'll like to know the current state of the tunnel. Was it completed? Do vehicles now ply it?

Thanks

That bridge from all indication might have been destroyed by Ihedioha himself. If he could still go ahead to demolish Freedom Square today after series of other destructions it is getting clearer now that many of the damaged Rochas Okorocha's projects was deliberate nefarious destruction. This is the latest destruction of the artificial rocks and waterfalls at Freedom Square.

Funny how u came to the conclusion about "people like me", very brilliant of you. For someone who goes by the moniker " unbiased", I applaud your unbiasedness.

I haven't been to IMO state for a while now, don't even think I've seen the said flyover. But from the pictures posted here, I was saying its just a portion of the bridge that is bad, which needs repairs, n not as if its the WHOLE BRIDGE.

The only bone of contention here is that the fault was developed quite early. Its just like the cement road Ambode did for BRT along the 10-lane airport road he was constructing. Between last year when it was constructed and this year, some portions have developed faults, and the current governor is fixing just those portions.

But on a more serious note, if the bridge is SUBSTANDARD, as you are making it seem, then we'll expect our new governor to DEMOLISH THE WHOLE BRIDGE AND BUILD A NEW ONE... Why you may ask, BECAUSE IT'LL BE FOOLISHNESS TO TRY TO PATCH SOMETHING THAT IS SUBSTANDARD FROM THE VERY FOUNDATION. I'm saying this because trying to patch or repair a bridge that is SUBSTANDARD will be a heartless and wicked activity, knowing that the foundations on which the bridge is standing is substandard.

Let's reason, not fight... IMO must be better

Nothing is wrong with the bridge except projection. That crack was from external impact from probably a tractor at night done for political reasons. I've used the bridge and noticed that the elevation angle ended sharply thereby endangering anyone plying it in high speed. If you've used the Itu bridge while traveling from Uyo to Calabar you'd get a sense of the fault I'm talking about. So the flyover needs adjustment but it's so solid that loaded heavy duty vehicles ply it.

Committee Visits Obiti Rubber Estate, Reassures Community Stakeholders

The Imo State Government on Wednesday made good its promise to fully revive the rubber estate at Obitti Community in Ohaji Local Government Area of the state when the committee on Imo Rubber Estates Limited parleyed with landlords and stakeholder’s of the largest rubber estate in the state.

Dr. Ray Opara, Chairman of the committee who led Imo Commissioner of police (CP) his team and other members of the committee to the host communities where hostilities by youths had stalled production activities for years before the intervention of the rubber committee instituted by Imo State Governor Emeka Ihedioha.

Speaking during the visit, Dr. Opara said the committee was on assignment to resuscitate, investigate the environmental and human damage caused by past administration and the operations of the aggrieved youths and landlords who frowned against neglect by past administration.

He said,” Our governor Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha has given us the mandate to resolve the long protracted problems in the rubber plantation. The governor brought us together to ensure this investment is resuscitated to the benefit of Obiti people.”

The Chairman who seized the platform to solicited corporation and support of the people assured them that Imo Government will revalidate staff list and add more staffers.

He averred that Gov Ihedioha has a different approach to governance, charging stakeholders and youths to reason among themselves and present the committee with names of their children ready to work for possible employment.

According to him, “Give us your utmost corporation today and we will revalidate the staff list and ensure your children are carried along in the sphere of things in the rubber plantation. Whatever the problem is that has kept that place moribund, will be resolved. We are aware of the agreement you have had before with past government but ours will be different and you will benefit first”

Opara who raised eyebrows over the rate at which rubber trees were being cut down by the people enjoined them to desist from such act because the establishment was for their interest.

The Chairman who was so impressed with the community overwhelming reception during the visit out of his personal purse offered a monetary award in form of scholarships worth N400 thousand to secondary school pupils whose parents are land owners in Obiti community.

He said,” through my foundation, Chibuzor Foundation, the scholarship will be given to pupils who performed excellently particularly those who took first position from JSS1-SSS3 in the coming examination.

The Traditional Ruler of Obiti community, HRH Rze Emmanuel Odunze, in his welcome address commended Governor Ihedioha for remembering his community and for deeming it fit to resuscitate a company that had gone moribund for several years.

He assured the members of the committee that if Obiti Community gets what is due to it, as promised by the government that his people will surely cooperate with government of Gov Ihedioha.
