Then take the right steps and complain to NEPA to have your bill readjusted.... But beating the innocent man doing his job, certainly does NOT solve the problem at hand.
There are different ways to kill a rat. By the time it happens again and again and again, government will be forced to take action against the robbery.

Sadly, you are focussing your energy on the wrong people because by beating the workers, you are only hurting the workers....and NEPA will just send another one, but this time with army/police in tow.... And you wood have achieve absolutely NOTHING.

What if I pay and dont see the light and the bills keep coming. Do you some people stay for months without light, yet bills keep coming? Tell me the Work they are doing for these people that needed to be paid for.

If you do not have supply of light and you get electricity bill. Just write a letter to your zonal office and collect your acknowledged copy. If it is not resolved then write to the Regulatory body of the Discos which is NERC. The power of the pen is greater than the power of the Fist. Be Wise

The Discos are privately run. Let me also tell you that there is a provisiob in the Law that permits the Disco not to supply light to an Area that is hostile or violent to them. Physical actions against Electricity Staff is never the best way to resolve issues. Your actions could put your street or area in darkness for a long time. But If a Customer or group of Customers write letters and petition the Disco authorities and their Regulatory bodies, they would surely get attention and justice. Even Fela sang that " Pen get power wey gun no get" in his hit song " Authority Stealing". Be Wise and strategic, choose to act well even when angry

Can you listen to yourself? Are you making any sense? Beat the 'government'. Government is an abstract term.

The government they see and can access are those that work for them.

Beat your government here means writing to express your grievances. The Electricity workers are not government workers. They work for a private firm just like any other body or Company. If you are a Post paid metered Customer, pay your bills. If you are on estimate billing and you are not satisfied with your bill, address your letter to the right authorities. Channels of complaint resolutions are there on your bill for a Customer to read and address appropriately. For Customers with Pre-paid Meters, please kindly pay for what you use. A lot of Pre-paid meter customers bypass their meters all in the name of being smart and trying to cheat the government. Well That is "STEALING". These actions do not mean well for our nation and our dream of 24/7 Days a week electricity supply. When angry act wisely

I am not defending NEPA, I am simply against the thought of beating up an innocent man doing his job, because you have a beef with the company he works for.... That's completely different!

Are you saying that it's ok to beat the innocent man that is doing his job... Simply because you have a beef with the company he works for AND/OR haven't paid your bills on time?

Then the issue should be brought to NEPA's main office and certainly not by beating up and committing a crime...
- What has this man achieved?!
- Is he gonna get get light now?! NOPE!!!
- Is he gonna have to face charges of assault?! YEP!!!
- and sadly, if he didn't have money to pay the bill before, he will have even less money to pay that bill now, thanks to spending money on bribing the cops and paying the fine and hospital bills of the innocent victim

on your first point, I understand you

on your second, not everybody will be cool enough with such actions by the Nepali staff

I paid a cool #19000 for July bill, wasn't at home when they call to discount, but my sister showed them the bill,

now this is what the guy said, we are supposed to pay 25k, and that he is coming back to disconnect it,
when the billing they brought is 14300 including VAT,

tell me if it happens to a person who got angry alot, plus the bill does not correspond with the light,
what will you have him do?

As much as I understand fully what you are saying, and that NEPA may be wrong here, you CANT go around beating people up everytime something goes wrong... Not only it is BARBARIC/ARCHAIC/iGNORANT, but also it is WRONG, and furthermore, what will you now do if the dude is twice your size or simply defends himself and kick your aasss?!

Anyone who thinks that they can go around beating people up everytime things don't do your way, need to be thrown into a cage at the zoo, because that's how animals behave. pure madness!

Ps if a person gets angry a lot, then let them seek proper psychological help to deal with whatever emotional problem they may have.
