11k monthly!!! I advise you quit the job before you start loosing your sanity as a human, 11k can never do anything meaningful in a person's life, I advise you find a teaching job in a high profile secondary school( some pay over 70k per month) at least it's better than your PA job.

Hmm...

If you Sabi wetin dey, you go Sabi say 11k is even more than enough to make you a super millionaire!

Unfortunately, so many people don't know this because they are already solely fixated on their salaries.

Think outside the box!

You can even start with zero balance. All you need do is to be sure the person you are supplying to is going to pay you as you drop it.

The day I started 5k was my last card and I needed about 27k to buy the sand and pay the driver his motor balance(truck fare). I was not discouraged. I went to the sand dump, the first driver I met and explained to was so kind and used his money to complete buying of the sand, and when the owner paid me, i balanced him. And the minimum gain u can make is 5k per trip, u can even make close to 17k per trip wen u add dagbo and when u jam a novice.
How can I also start the business bro

You might be the first to be considered if chances comes out. If you can be patient and throw your dice on probability then I'd advise you to continue while still applying for jobs in other companies. But for now, you're still jobless my brother

YOU ARE A GOOD MAN MY SON!

THIS IS WHERE I GET ANGRY WITH TODAY'S GRADUATES. WHY DID YOU GO TO SCHOOL IN THE FIRST PLACE IF YOU CANT APPLY THE KNOWLEDGE YOU BOUGHT (THAT IS IF THEY HAVE ANY) WITH YOUR MONEY FROM THE TERTIARY INSTITUTION TO SOLVE LIFE'S PROBLEMS?

YOU GO TO SCHOOL JUST TO GET JOBS?

I ONCE TOLD A GRADUATE TO GO AND ORGANISE THE COMMUNITY YOUTHS AND REFORM THE REVENUE COLLECTION UNIT. BEFORE NOW, THAT UNIT WAS BASICALLY FOR THUGS AND THEY HARASS AND INTIMIDATE PEOPLE JUST TO EXTORT FROM THEM. THOUGH THEY REMIT THE ALLOCATED AMOUNT TO THE LGA BUT THEIR MODUS OPERANDI WAS NOTHING COMPARED TO WHAT IS HAPPENING IN OTHER PART OF THE WORLD. THIS GRADUATE DECLINED AND CONTINUED HIS JOB HUNTING. I GAVE THAT SAME IDEA TO SOMEONE (ANOTHER GRADUATE) AND TODAY HE IS MARRIED, HAVE KIDS AND WAS BUILDING HIS OWN HOME WHEN I SAW HIM LAST. THE OTHER ONE IS STILL JOB HUNTING.

DO YOU KNOW THAT IN THAT COMMUNITY THEY OFFER ELECTRONIC RECEIPTS FOR DEVELOPMENT LEVIES AND REVENUE?

THEY CAN PAY FROM THE COMFORT OF THEIR HOMES?

ALL THESE FROM AN INNOVATIVE MIND WHO DIDN'T LOOK DOWN ON MY IDEA.

THIS ALSO CREATED INDIRECT JOBS AS NEW CYBER CAFES SPRUNG UP IN THE COMMUNITY.

SOMETIMES THE LGA'S ALLOCATE JUST 500,000 NAIRA TO A CERTAIN COMMUNITY. BUT THIS GUYS MAKE X10 OF THAT AMOUNT IN A MONTH. IF NOT FOR THEIR THUGGERY AND ILLITERACY, THEY WOULD BE MILLIONAIRES. SAME THING APPLIES TO COMMERCIAL DRIVERS TOO.

BACK TO YOU MY 11K SALARY SON.

ITS TIME TO QUIT THAT JOB OR ELSE I RECALL YOU. angry angry angry

IF YOU HAVE NO IDEA, THEN RELOCATE TO ABUJA AND GET A CAR FOR UBER/TAXIFY.

AT LEAST I HAVE SEEN PEOPLE WHO MADE GOOD MONEY DOING THAT BUSINESS.

Please Sir throw more light on this. This idea can it still be applied in other regions

Good day daddy. I found your advice worth utilizing. However, I lack the required know how on how to do it. I will be extremely grateful if you could give me insight and better knowledge to the revenue collection formula void of thuggery. Thanks
, Go and learn a skill and build other skills around it.The best for now is computer and ict. My aunt was paying me 4k as graduate why working in her cafe. But i usually dedicate 2 hours every day learning about stuffs like networking and programming. Pressures were coming left and right, abuses and humiliating remarks , like stupid graduate working for 4k but i was pouring those humiliation into reading and acquiring skills. It was all the experience that i acquired that landed me this present goverment job and other online bz too. And i am just preparing to start my own bz.

I bet 5k won't do in this economy?

Often times, it's not money. That business - supplying chips, gravel and/or sand is worth venturing me.

Look at this, at this business, you become a middle man btw the Sand owners and contractors. It's a deal. You close a supply deal with contractors & established a pay on delivery agreement with sand owners. In most cases, the business chain has: the sand owners; truck owners; contractor/builders & you. A friend does this & at times, for each trip after plus & minus; he makes at least 10k. Imagine making 10 trips to a site a day.

I tell my colleagues/friends at work that, "I come for money & not work; I travelled over 600km, so if I want work, starting clearing of grasses through this distance is on it's own work. So I want money, looking for where it pays higher.

So to OP, plan to resign. You have garnered experience; your work must have exposed you to people; you have as well learnt many things. Talk to people or apply your experience to start business.

I stay in akwa ibom, getting a teaching job that pays to that amount is not easy

Salary is shitty no doubt, but what have you learnt from the job that will guarantee you a better job?

How has this job increased your teaching value?
Your main purpose there was not to earn money, but to acquire knowledge that will increase your value.

Is your present employer afraid to lose you to a better school?

Have you been an entitlement seeker without adding value to your self or the school?

Start extra moral lessons bro. Go online, watch videos and read materials that will hone your teaching skills.

Let your value bring you commendations and get you noticed. Let parents seek for your help with mentoring their kids.

The best schools will beg you to work for them on your terms and your present school will be damn scared to lose you even though that does not mean they will increase your salary. Atleast they will make attempts at manipulating you to stay.

Quit the entitlement mentality and stop been a liability. Continuously challenge your self by becoming a better teaching version of yourself everyday.

Yes! The money sucks no doubt, and it's frustrating as well as killing your morals but it is the value the school sees in you that they are paying for and you are clinging unto the job like your life depends on it because you don't see any value in your self or you don't know the worth of your value if any.

Don't quit, not just yet. Your present school has stripped you of your dignity and reward for labour in the name of making profit. Let pay them back.

Give yourself six months and consider yourself working for free and increase your teaching input. Pay attention to your students and connect with them.

Watch out for those struggling to assimilate, but have the hunger to learn and discuss the possibility of weekend classes with their parents.

If possible, do it for free or little thing. If they see the value you add to their kids, they will be willing to pay more and also tell their friends about you. Those guys will bring their kids to you for mentoring cos they want a piece of the value you bring.

In 2020, you could quit your job cos you have a better offer or your extra classes is not allowing you handle regular teaching job.

Few years down the line you could own a school if that is your calling.

I am presently helping my boss build a firm for little or nothing. Everyone thinks I am crazy.

I work extra hours, spend my money and most times, I don't get thank you.

My wages are shitty but I have found a way to generate more funds for the office so I could earn 10-15 % extra funds on each funds I bring in.

Yes, that has improved my earnings but I have also learnt and garnered loads of experience on how consulting and public relations business works. His clients are always happy and they speak well of me.

I intend to leave as soon as the firm gets to the position I want which is among the first 50-100 in West Africa. So I can continue mine from that realm.

I intend do that in the next two years insha-Allah and by 2021, I am out to start mine cos I now know how a world class consulting firm works.

That's the gamut of my advice.

But if the environment is not good or does not allow you improve yourself, quit and get a similar job where you can start over again and build.

It's all about adding value to yourself and becoming your own boss.

No employer can pay you enough to make you comfortable. They can only pay enough to cover your bills and that's if you are lucky to bring a worthy cause to the table and you know the worth of your value.

Shalom.

Unless you have an alternative, don't quit.
Also, try to cease better chances from that bank.
wtf? Are you for real? That's mental slavery, you can sell pure water and be your own boss and make more than 30k saving in a month conveniently. Why would anyone accept 11k job if not house maid, even house maid you pay 10k sef, you must feed her and provide basic needs which will amount to over 40k in total estimate.

Hello OP,

I will suggest you have a timeline on when to resigin you should not resigin from your job if you do not have a business and source of capital in mind or another job. Expect you have someone that will support you with extra cash.
11k is small but it is something when you have noone to depends on. Don't take a hash decision.
Re: Should I Quit My Job Or Not? by udemzyudex(m): 7:13am On Aug 02, 2019
Anyway is never a way oooo, the fact that you say I don't want to sit at home doing nothing doesn't mean you should take any job.

Some jobs are a total waste of time, in fact instead of saving you will be owing debts.
How much is 11k in this next level? Chai

Tell the person you're working for to increase your salary as promise, if nothing is done about it, Nna waka.

I vehemently agreed with that of a primary school for obvious reason no be bank na. Haba mana!?!

A bank that can engage the services of an Area Manager and decided to share his workload with a PA can never be petty! Security (Not police o) in a bank don't earn 11k. Cleaners without even primary 6 don't earn such. We know Nigeria is messed up but bros, I swear this baba dey lie! Unless he is not saying what he does and terms of contract.
A Bank cannot have just one branch and have an Area Manager. So its definitely not a chewing gum something (pun intended).
