So I posted a video about a soldier demonstrating how juju power can be used for bullet proof, ( could never believed that) well he shot himself trice and nothing happened, so i asked nairalanders if it's fake or real, so far no one has given a satisfactory answer to the video, except for Salford1 who said "he was firing blank bullet" but didn't explain further.

It is likely the bullets were blanks. As those, there is still some element of mass which means there is a likelihood of causing an injury if the blanks hit a larger area.

The product of mass and velocity gives momentum. High momentum means high impact. So if the bullets were blanks, the high release velocity from the gun can cause some damage. Look closely at the video and you'd see that the soldier smartly exposed a small surface of his mouth to the bullet and he could escape with a scratch. I will believe his jazz if he aims the gun at his brain through his mouth or use a grenade.

I noticed there is something wrong with that video.
If you have ever pulled a trigga of an assault rifle you will understand the power behind guns.

Even with a bullet proof vest and you are shot at close range it's either you fall down, get stunned or fall down and get stunned.
You will still feel pain of a bullet hitting you even with bullet proof vest.

This guy is an idiot! The gunpowder needs to be in an enclosed space for it to fire. A bullet gets fired when the hammer strikes the primer which lights up the gunpowder causing an explosion. It is this explosion that pushes the bullet out of the barrel of the gun. If you remove the bullet from a cartridge, the powder pours out as there is no way to contain it.

A blank cartridge is designed in a similar way, only that the shell is extended to form the bullet shape, that is a single piece of brass is used to create the gunpowder chamber and the bullet. When fired, the gunpowder explodes as usual but no bullet is expelled. The bullet portion just opens due to the force of the explosion.
