After tests, they were peeping on nairaland to hear updates for what they don't want o... and finally nnpc says... Come to Abuja o, coman show ur real face.....most borrow money or spend their last cash traveling to Abuja to fight for local men competitive spaces while praying vigorously for their village people to fail so that they can enter.

Meanwhile, I've known him since I was a GT. His coaching then via emails and chats (when he still used to do it for free really helped transform me from a bright honors graduate who'd stammer and stutter over every interview question into a confident candidate with plenty offers to choose from.

You don't say this to people. If they say their salary is more than what nnpc wants to pay, it can be true and that's their problem. Jarus, some other people and I fall in the same category. You don't mock people as you did in the first phase of your write up we all try our luck. Life is taking risk. My monthly savings here (abroad) is more than nnpc salary. I just like Nigeria. I like to raise my children in Nigeria because it is easier. It will be easier for me to handle my wife in Nigeria than abroad. I can marry more than one wife in Nigeria and be okay, if I try it abroad I'm a living dead man. Guy, think beyond your nose and wise up. Stop thinking from your anus. Use your brain.

It's a tough choice for me. NNPC is no doubt a good place to work. Apart from offering more stability and security, it could also be a stepping to intergovernmental energy organizations like OPEC, which is my ultimate aim. I have read the profile of Nigerians that work in such organizations, especially OPEC. A good number moved from NNPC. Most of their staff from other countries like Saudi and Iran also worked in their country's NOC at some point. I noticed that from the LinkedIn profile of OPEC employees. It looks like NOC experience is highly coveted by OPEC.

I have tried my luck with OPEC twice, without being shortlisted. I strongly suspect it has to do with not having NOC or IOC experience.

That's another attraction of NNPC to me.

But it's a very tough one taking a pay cut to achieve that.

PS: This is the handle for my firm, JarusHub, which is usually operated by my partner and staff, and occasionally by me.

I still find it difficult to understand why would any local man/woman find it so difficult to believe there are few guys who can actually reject NNPC offer on this trend....

I personally know of two people who can do that. They went through the recruitment process (YES), though they don't comment here but follow this trend as time permit.


I can't dare rejecting NNPC messenger's offer talk more of GT position (Not even in my dream), another local man here may also not dare it... but there are few guys who can. Just like you can easily reject 100k job offer, millions of young Nigerians can't (100k job is a dream comes true for them)... and we are all here on nairaland.
