Thanks bro. You have been really helpful. Keep on sharing information.

Am in this predicament because someone I was applying with, played a fast one on me by withholding a vital information from me.

But it will end in glory. Amen.
Hmmm.. it's well. I wonder what the person gained from doing so.

It will definitely end in glory. Wish you well bro

Depending on the course bro, some compulsorily requires a language certificate while EPL suffice for some. Check your course website very well to know which one is needed.

On today's episode of how students survive in Germany, here are a few points for you all... cheesy

A popular scholarship is the Deutschlandstipendium (w w w . deutschlandstipendium . de / index . ht ml) which is open to everyone ─ regardless of nationality or personal and parental income. Applications should typically be filed from your home country, but if you're already in Germany, you should apply within the first 15 months.

The first contact point should be the social office in the Studentenwerk or the academic international offices of the university if in ''financial distress''. The advisors there know who at each university helps international students in financial difficulty. The social office also provides information on financial help from the state which you might be able to apply for.

One-off financial support can be applied for from the catholic (KSG: w w w . f h o k . de / struk tur en / hochschulgemeinden-vor-ort / ) or the evangelical (ESG: google ESG + your city on google) student community of the universities. At some universities there are also private societies that support international students, so ask around.

Education Loan
The education loan programme (“Bildungskreditprogramm”), run by the German federal government, offers financial aid to students. Unlike the BAföG, the “Bildungskredit” is a loan with no grant elements. That means that you will have to repay the full amount at an interest rate of 0.75% (as of June 2017). The loan will be paid in monthly instalments with the maximum amount being 7,200 euros. If you live in Germany as a refugee, you are eligible to apply for the loan. Please note that this only makes sense if you are sure that you will have the financial means in the future to pay it back. Repayment starts no earlier than four years after you received your first monthly instalment.

STUBE is a body that helps students with integration and excellence in their academics with a focus on knowledge transfer to the developing countries (especially your country of origin). Their mainstay program is funding students back to either their countries or any african countries of their choice for a fully funded 6months internship or thesis completion. You can google Stube + your city to find which of their offices is responsible for applications.

You are allowed to get thesis funding from your university! Once you get your thesis topic approved, simply contact your international center about funding for your thesis and you will be informed about the process. Payout range from 200 to 450 euros for between 3 -6 months. The aim of this funding is so you can concentrate on completing the thesis satisfactorily.

Word of advice, start searching and applying for student jobs immediately after your visa interview, you may be lucky as some have been to have something waiting for you before you land. Being able to email in German without coming across as a novice might also help.

Additions are welcome.

Thanks for the information provided to prospective students willing to come over to study in Germany.

Also note that BAfoeG is mostly available to German students/EU students. It is rarely available to African students (unless you have PR). African students with residence permit for studying cannot receive BAfoeG benefits.

DAAD or STUBE is a better option for African students but be aware that holders of these scholarships must (in most cases) go back to develop their respective countries.

It's feasible.. try fund before the interview(don't use SL) and start preparing for your travel. You might have to travel few days after getting your visa

Let me also use this opportunity to discuss about something terrible I have noticed about Africans and most black people; We are Not serious and We may never get there as a people! Ask me why?

Why do Africans and black people hate each other so much and don't like sharing information? Why do we withhold vital information from each other all in a bid to "Make it alone"?

Am so sorry to say this but Black people to me are too rettarded to be humans. We are nothing but consummerists. A vast majority of us has nothing positive to add to the universe except eat, sleep and die.

Even on this thread, I have seen people who withhold information for reasons best known to them. Its not as if anybody is asking them money. Even those who gained from the thread will disappear after they " Have made it". Its so unfair. Life is not like that.

Please whoever is reading this, lets have a change of heart and redirect our lives to be more meaningful to the universe.

Personally, I know how much I have spent on this venture and will continue to spend. People are not aware that investing in your future and leaving this worthless nation is a business venture that is profitable in 2019! I even had to sell my two cars and become a driver for another man in a bid to achieve my passion.

Ever since I began this admission venture and German movement, there is something I noticed about Germans. They are highly efficient and responsibe! I know how many times I wrote to my admissions director and school coordinator and got a reply within 5 minutes! I decided to google most of them and found out that they are top proffessiors in there fields and yet have time to do there job.

In nigeria here, ordinary university receptionist is as arrogant as an angry frog. Even for them to attend to you when you are physically there is a herculean task not to talk of when you send them mails! If in doubt, google the email address of 20 top universities in Nigeria. Send them a mail enquiring about something. You do be lucky if you get a reply from any of them in 6 months. There websites are crappy, there inbox is full and not read.

Just imagine how much people are investing out of Nigeria just to have a chance at good life. The block account is now 10,236. I have it on good information that more than 50,000 people applied to go to Germany. Imagine the billions of Euros that it amounts to if am not wrong in the calculation! Imagine what that money could have done to a nation that is deemed as the poverty capital and headquaters of the known and unknown universe/Multiverse

We need a total attitudinal and mental overhaul. We need to change our ways. We complain always about bad leadership as if the morrons that have been leading us were thrown down from hell. Were they not chosen from us? Am tired jare.

I pray in my next life the angel shifting people to continents does not make this mistake ever in his life again and divert me to Africa ever again. I know Gods plan for me and it was never in a black nation.

Please do we have people in the house who have funded their Fintiba account with new amount? How did you go about it from Nigeria.

I opened domiciliary account, and intend to make the transfer through it, but I heard that the maximum amount u can transfer once is 9000 Euro. Meanwhile Fintiba insist that the transfer must be made once (10450 Euro), else some additional documents will be required which may evenctually delay the process because of verification.

Please is it safe if I also book a visa appointment with my conditional acceptance letter, since my enrolment date is already close by (first week of october)? It states I need to pay 500euroes upfront, before being given an unconditional acceptance letter.

Hmmmm
Since you have a better option think it through. Yes, it is very possible to get your AM and Visa in 5weeks if everything goes smoothly but N/B a slight delay during the process like, verifying travel history on your passport after AM(if u have any), holidays, lazy vo, how fast is the person handling your document at the foreign office, VP, etc can make you lose going this winter if the school decides not to extend further. You can always switch to your prefferd school or course after a semester or a year.

Exactly. I have a friend on DAAD scholarship and he's required to come back to Nigeria after his studies and must spend at least 2 years in his country before he can apply for German visa again. That really discouraged me.

The beautiful thing about Deutschland is that there are several underlying rules that make certain things possible so very little people know about them. As rare as it is to find an non-eu student get Bafög, they do get it... Anyways this is just information, it will be useful to some and not to others wink

DAAD or STUBE is a better option for African students but be aware that holders of these scholarships must (in most cases) go back to develop their respective countries.

There are different types of grants and scholarships from Daad and Stube. The example I gave for Stube is a fully funded 6months internship or thesis scholarship which has no requirement to go back anywhere after you are done. Just read around a bit more and you may just find even better offers. i.e. There is a Christian body that gives 700euros per month stipend for 1year without any demand, ties or requirements other than to get a letter from a registered church in Germany that you are a full fledged working member of that church. Not all Daad scholarships have the return to base rule as I believe you know. Add others if you know, could help out some folks.
