Modafuka prolly started driving max 10yrs ago with a Toyota tiny light he washes morning and night and feels Toyota is d best thing in d whole world.
Let him go push a 1986 Benz flat booth,he will never step into a Toyota again grin
Had a colleague drive my VW golf4 on our way back to work the other day and he swore never to have anything to do with a Toyota when he's done with his present 010 Camry.

When I say people have been in darkness for too long.
There was a time people talk like this for Peugeot but now they know better

Poverty is when you dream of the minimum life can offer.

I pray that most of those insulting on this thread will have a chance to drive other brands and understand that fuel economy and reliability is not the only thing that drives you but the pleasures of the trip.

Strictly looking at cost, most people will used a car for 5 years and maintenance cost within those years will be similar if someone is willing to pay 30% more for used a car, that car will sell more.

If you can maintain your own car, I bet your second car will not be a Corolla or Camry,. Gazzuz did not keep his Accord for long

FYI. The Toyota and other brand cost the same new but the used one is expensive because of demand by third world.
If third world was buying new cars story will be different

We keep telling them but they won't hear.
Even if you come to that fuel economy, all things being equal,a C180 merc and Toyota Corolla have d same fuel consumption, just a slight difference due to d heavier weight of d merc.
My golf 4 occasionally drags me around a lil cos of its inherent complex electrical system added to d fact that d small handheld scanner I have doesn't communicate wt d ECU while it does with d C300.
but will I exchange it for a newer Corolla?Hell no.
I know d way I feel with d golf after much OH on AYA-Zuba Express way.Maximum confidence.

Las Las, Toyota, Honda, VW, Benz, Rolls Royce, Bugatti, Audi, German cars, Japanese cars, American cars is a state of mind. Different strokes for different folks. One man's food is another man's poison. I may not be rich and I may prefer German cars and I may be extremely wealthy but do prefer Japanese, it's all a state of mind.

Bross the Oldest cars on Earth are the Merc!
Ask yourself this question, how many Toyota turns up at the classic shows.Toyota more than 200k miles is dead compared to an Audi and a BMW

Or even Honda for that matter.

One simple challenge is to visit copart, over 80% of the clean title American Honda Civic 2001-2005 will be well over 200k miles.

bros, by now you should have known that there are some people in this section you should not even bother doing arguments, they are a bunch of loud talking empty headed people always trying to force their opinion on others

we all know which cars are reliable and which cars are not

we all know which cars we will choose if we were stranded in the desert with only fuel and we had to choose a car to cross

so please dont give yourself headache

You guys talk about reliability as if it is the only parameter of rating a car. What about performance, comfortability, safety, price etc.

What's good in a person who is good in math but terrible in English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography etc?

What's good in a woman who can f_ck well, but cannot cook, clean, dress or is as dull as an im.becile?

Reliability is not the only parameter to rate a car. Just because Corolla carries 1st position in reliability, failing performance, safety, comfort etc can make a very unreliable car the best relatively.

When looking for a wife, beauty is not all? When looking for a car reliability is not all. When looking for a president, integrity is not all! Isn't that the reason we voted Buhari? See where we are.

If you drive your reliable Corolla and you cannot catch up to me in a race, how can reliability make up for it. If I drive 200miles with 3k fuel and your corolla stops on the way, how will reliability help you?

If you want to eat rice and i give you raw rice with no condiments, fire or water, what have i done?

I have put in so many analogies so you can understand, i really hope you do.

Toyota tops reliability scales but certainly not the best car brand.

That satchet water "moves market" more than bottled water doesn't make satchet water better than bottled water.
To everyman, his desires.
Some of us can never be caught in a Toyota. There is no Toyota sedan that can be classified as a driver's car.
Motor wey be say if you fire pass 140km/hr,e go be like airplane wey wan take off.
Lots of Benz flat booth,V booth whose production ended in d 80s are still on d road.
How many Toyotas of that age still dey road by now?

Toyota AE80/AE86, tercel, Camry 1st gen, 4 runners, land cruisers, celica, the list plenty. 80% of Toyotas built then are still running.

I understand and concur....
problem is, many many people in this our "Third World Country" do not joke with reliability....
because the bulk of their personality lies therein....

many people will want to have a reliable vehicle along their dream freelander... just to be on the safer side....

and lemme correct something else said here....

MECHANICS FOR ALL BRANDS ARE NOT EVERYWHERE.....

I found that the hard way.... maybe in Lagos, Abuja, PH
...but not everywhere...

when I lived in North Central.... so many Hondas then, dunno about now.... of course there will be expertise who through several failed attempts to revive one vehicle or another, have found several means to solving different problems...

in the east, Toyota plenty.... take ur Lincoln navigator there and let it have one major issue there.... then u will understand the need to follow herd sometimes...

So many advantages of following herd......so many...
if I begin list... e no go finish....

that said, I'd advise anyone that wants to buy a car to go for his heart and accept the other things that MIGHT follow!
