The rift between Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki and his predecessor, Adams Oshiomole, ended last night.

The two politicians who have been engaged in a battle of supremacy in the state, buried the hatchet when Obaseki paid Oshiomole a surprise visit in his home in Iyanmoh to celebrate Sallah.

This is a wise move on Obaseki's part. He wants a second term, preferably under APC, so he had to reconcile with Oshiomhole. Without reconciliation, his chances of getting his second term desire may have been difficult of not impossible. He would have had to leave APC in order to realize his 2nd term ambition without reconciling with his party chair. He is a wise man.

I know people like you want two longtime friends to become political enemies just to satisfy a political narrative, but you have failed. Obaseki just demonstrated that he is smarter and wiser than your likes. It's not a crime for Oshiomhole and Obaseki to remain political allies.

Obaseki is the one that went to Oshiomhole, not the other way round. Face the truth, without Oshiomhole support, Obaseki may find it difficult to get a return ticket under APC, his chances of contesting under another party may be high, but not APC. Oshiomhole would only need to dissolve and reconstitute the APC exco in Edo like was done in Ogun, and Obaseki would consequently be forced out of the party. If he wins reelection under another party, fine, but he would not be able to fly the APC ticket, that is my point. Obaseki is a wise man.

I wonder why former Governors still want to continue calling the shots so am alittle surprise at Oshiomhole attitude as one would think freedom and right fighters knows best when it comes to Governance. it’s best to wise up and know who they are fighting for - themselves only!!

in Ambode's case he didn't carry anyone along, record had it that Fashola's had a good relationship with the lawmakers but reverse is the case in Ambode's side. the people on his side aren't only minority but they don't have political weight to wave a political wind away
