It's obvious the airline sold your seat to El Zakzaky and wife, sue the airline

Try negotiating with them to maybe 50k. Since you're paying cash, then it's negotiable and not fixed
Re: I Missed My Flight To India Yesterday, Please Help by sowilli: 12:51pm On Aug 13, 2019
Ever wondered why people always run and bribe their way when they are about 30 mins to take off. It is not just to miss appointment alone but because of the extra fee. I can assure you may not pay less than that amount. You have to pay extra fee for rescheduling a missed flight. Forget all these go to Twitter bla bla. Look for the money and pay. Always be at the airport at least one hour to your take off time and if your visa says you should have a return ticket, endeavor to have one

You have to source for that funds if you really want to travel to I India. My friend going to Dubai last year faced a similar fate. He had to pay extra for the next day.

I think the 75k is fair enough because you will be charged a No show fee as well as date change. But I would advice you fill a payment teller while making the payment so as to clear your doubts.

It might not be depending on the kind of ticket he purchased if he purchased a flexible ticket is is always sometime expensive the it might but if he purchased a cheap ticket which most people purchase then it might not be cos it's date change fee and no appearance fee are fixed by the airline themselves

Good afternoon OP,
You have to pay that fare, trust me no airline staff will cheat you on this cos you will be paying into the airlines account.... Not an individual.
.
I work with an airline and we charge this rebooking fees...
You will be charged a fix change fee, ranging from $150, no show fee of about $50 and if applicable fare difference.
..
...
Endeavor to go through the terms and conditions of the ticket B4 purchasing.

Hi, you will have to pay an expensive fee for a missed flight. Call the customer care again and confirm how much you gonna be paying. You can take the money to their office before your flight.

You can easily manage your flight ticket. It was handled by an agent, kindly get back to them with your PNR and booking details. Your flight would be changed for you immediately.

Gone are the days when "problem shared is problem solved" nowadays it's "problem shared, problem gossiped about"

If you don't have any meaningful solution to the OP, just read and leave the thread

Like someone suggested, try reaching the airline through their Twitter handle, Facebook or official email, if all effort seems abortive, just pay the money to avoid even paying more
Problem shared, problem complicated.. U ll end up leaving confused

Sorry, you got it all wrong. I don't know if you are a first time traveler. Even at that, you should have asked all necessary questions. Also you ahould have taken note of every single details while booking, and also confirmed your ticket online days ahead of your departure. Most airline offer online 'check in' 72 hours before departure, if you had taken advantage of this, you won't be in this mess. Also, your plan to leave your place by 10am and arrive airport at 11 for an international flight at 1.30pm is a very bad one. You could get stuck in lagos traffic thus ruining your plan. Also most international flights close 'check in' 45 mins-1 hr before flight depature. Sometimes, the immigration queue might be so long, such that u may even spend close to 45 mins before getting to your boarding gate. You should consider all of these factors when on international travel. With regards to the fine, I sincerly doubt if you can do anything about it. Cos the fault was obviously yours. You can try to seek audience with a much senior official tho, maybe they can put a human face to the issue. I wish you good luck. But please take note of all i have said.

It was Etihad , lagos to india, i missed my flight, and i was rescheduled to tomorrow flight, the lady wrote a penalty of 75k on my print out which i know its not official, please someone in the house who is experience should help me, i don't have such amount of money , i have logged on there sight and confirmed that i'm scheduled for tomorrow flight.

I booked the ticket by myself online with my master card and i believe if there's any extra charges , i should also pay it by myself online. The lady said i should bring the 75k tomorrow on my travel date.

Please kindly move to front page if possible, i need urgent advice from experienced people, i've contacted ethihad but since the call was picked by nigerians , i still smell pre-intimacy. please help me. i attached a picture of an image which seams like what i could have paid if there's any charges , which is 75dolars or i have already paid charges for extension incase i missed the flight. please check the image

Reason why i missed the flight: The first flight i booked showed September 18th, 1:30pm, i was so sad because this will not meet up with my course and i will have to book another one. Not knowing that the date was an error from there end and i wasn't charged at all, i almost cried for about 1hour while i was waiting for gtb to charge me, But when they didn't charge me, that was when i realized it was an error from their end so i rebooked it, now the date was okay (august 12th, 2019) but i never bother to checked the time again , forgetting that the date and time changed, i've been telling my self my flight was 1:30, I EVEN SLEPT AROUND 9 TILL 10, i live at ojodu berger, so i could be at ikeja airport by 11am which i did. Note: No village people is involved, It will had to my experience i live i know. so just give me your honest advice not village things.

Go and look 4d guy that booked Elzakzakys flight to India let him do ur own 4u

Try every possible means to reach Etihad officially, check their email address or their twitter handle they should tell you the official price for a penalty if you missed your flight, if you try to no avail, then the 75k is your best bet otherwise you will have to rebook the whole thing entirely which is more expensive.

From what op is saying, it seems they changed the time without informing their customers. Who does that? In saner climes they will be the ones to pay op for damages.

As in the guy no serious at all. You were not even sure the travel time and you went to bed late. Whenever I am doing international travel I ensure I am at the airport 5hrs before boarding call especially with Lagos traffic, then.
Whatever they tell you to pay na you cause am.

To the best of my knowledge as a travel agent, i don't think the lady that gave you the new payble was wrong, you have already caused a NO SHOW. That is you did not show up for checkin on your proposed travel date and the airline will penalise you for breach of contract wich is around 120 dollars or there about. This in addition to the 75dollars date change fee is 195 dollars, 195* 362= 70,590. You can equally ask for a break down in the amount to be sure of what you are paying for.

Flight tickets comes together with date and time naawaa

If your ticket has been reconfirm for tomorrow flight
That means you have to pay 100us on the air line counter before collecting your boarding pass!

There is always a fee for "no show".

Me nah master of missing flights. I have paid for "no show severally. It is usually between $100 - $150 depending on the airline and destination.

I have had to pay a "no show" fee of $100 for a $180 - $200 flight - can't remember the exact amount again.

with due respect ma, if you read the whole thing and the reason why i missed it, you will know that i check the time, but i registered the wrong time .

Oya stop trying to exonerate your self and accept it is your fault.

It’s not that airlines fault but your carelessness. How on earth do you book a flight and not bother to check the time.
Oga go and pay the 75k or better still check the flight company’s website or their social media handles.
