i rate ajayi as a center back not as a defensive midfielder. he did well in that position few times in the championship but can you entrust such responsibility to him when playing in a top international competition if ndidi gets injured eventually?

as a coach i can bring him in to help choke the midfield and help out defensively when defending a lead but i will not take the risk of starting him as a 4 in a top international game. it's way too risky bro.

i will rather take the risk to start him in his preferred position in defence that starting as a 4. Moreove he has been very impressive for westbrom so far since the season started

Humility017:

to be honest I rate ajayi highly

Actually it's quite good but not exactly IMPRESSIVE.

I am not saying is he Robben but it's good enough then let's compare him to other left sided players and see who is more deserving.

I am sorry.. That is very impressive.

How is 10 goals and 10 assists in 27 games as a wing player not impressive .?? Unless you are messi or ronaldo. Those are great numbers.

Nwakaeme is not my top choice but i would not mind him getting another chance as a wing player.

Alex Iwobi explains why he left Arsenal for Everton

Football (soccer) greatest goals and highlights | 101 Great Goals

Ready to make a name for himself in the Premier League

Alex Iwobi has explained some of the reasoning behind his decision to leave Arsenal and join Everton on transfer deadline day.

The 23-year-old had spent the entirety of his career with Arsenal, coming through the youth ranks.

Though, last season was probably his most successful, with the player featuring in 51 matches across the campaign.

In that time, he scored six goals and assisted nine.

That impressive season convinced Everton to splash the cash on Iwobi in the summer transfer window.

The Toffees reportedly paid in the region of £35million to sign the Englishman.

Now, ahead of his Everton debut, Iwobi has been speaking about his motivation to leave Arsenal.

Iwobi looking to shake his youngster tag

The English has revealed that one factor in his decision to leave was his youngster tag at Arsenal.

Iwobi claims he is now looking to shake that, while also making a name for himself in the Premier League.

‘The offer was too attractive for me to turn down,” Iwobi explained to Everton’s official website.

‘The manager was telling me: ‘There is a spot for you, we will take care of you’. Basically, all the things you want to hear as a player.

‘He has given me the confidence I will do well. I am ready for a new challenge and chapter in my life.

‘I always had that youngster tag at Arsenal, so hopefully, with this move I am able to make a name for myself in the Premier League and create history with Everton.

‘Hopefully, I will be able to take on a bit more responsibility and add something to the team as well.’

Having made a plethora of signings, Everton fans will be hoping for some form of top-six push this season.

yes you are right, few players started from the top leagues flopped, went down to moi moi leagues to rediscover their selves and are back in the top leagues now.

Chuba destroyed youth football.

But has played at EPL, Championship then League One. With nothing to show.

What saves him is the Arsenal pedigree that he uses to brand himself to European teams. Otherwise he would by now be looking at Non league in England.

And this is quite a common phenomenon once players leave big clubs at youth level.

The other uncapped player in the squad is Fortuna Dusseldorf goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, while Ikechukwu Ezenwa is the only player plying his trade in the domestic championship.

Six players representing English clubs have been selected, including Leon Balogun, Semi Ajayi, Wilfred Ndidi, Oghenekaro Etebo, Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho.

Benfica fullback Tyronne Ebuehi has been recalled to the squad despite concerns about his fitness.

The team contains three goalkeepers, eight defenders, five midfielders and seven strikers.

But atleast he is retracing his steps and currently plays for Greek best club at the moment, that implies he is working hard to get to his expectated potentials and hype.

Joined PAOK as the team's 2nd striker, got his chance when their top striker was out with injury and siezed the position since then which also implies he doing something better. Let's watch how he will perform this new season

At the age of 30 when we have players younger who are very talented in the same position?

I will even prefer an untested Bonaventure Dennis or unproven Amaechi if he will accept to play for us than giving a 30 year old a chance again

please someone should advise Rohr to stop calling up Onachu for now...let either of awoniyi or okereke take his place until he improves...or call up additional midfielder QPR Eze Eberechi
He's the only target man we have. Rohr will never go without inviting a target man again.

Is KC a midfielder now on what basis league form.

I expected a few new players to be tried out its very conservative and not progressive.

Rohr is conservative though.
I personally think the list is out early but like someone mentioned here if the list is out early there's really not much to go on so most of the regulars will be invited.

Balogun needs to focus on getting more game time; people are right to be concerned.
I would have preferred Ezenwa moving to one of Rangers, Enyimba or Pillars but he can't displace any of the first choice options there. Maybe the GK training crew should consider Afelokhai and Suraj going forward.
I'm happy to see Maduka. He seems to really want this and I hope he comes good.

Glasgow Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo has expressed delight at receiving his first ever call-up to the Super Eagles ahead of a post-Africa Cup of Nations international friendly against Ukraine on September 10.

The former Charlton Athletic star has been handed the ultimate reward by manager Gernot Rohr following his excellent start to life at the Scottish Premiership side.

Aribo is a modern day midfielder as he has both offensive and defensive attributes, and has scored three goals in his last four games in the UEFA Europa League.

The London-born midfielder is not provisionally cap-tied to England and there was no need for the Nigerian Federation to apply for a change of association.

''I am very happy, it is a dream come true to receive the call-up,'' said Aribo to allnigeriasoccer.com.

''My agent was the first person to inform me that I was invited to the Super Eagles. I had spoken to one of the assistant coaches in the team before the invitation.''

Apart from Aribo, the other foreign-born players named in the latest Super Eagles squad are goalkeeper Maduka Okoye and defenders Leon Balogun, William Ekong, Tyronne Ebuehi, Ola Aina and Semi Ajayi.

I only told you all players deserve a look for the national team, i never compared anyone, i never said zuby is better than aribo or aribo is better than zuby my only problem with you is your hate and childishness and thats all

I said all players deserved to be looked but you said zuby doesnt deserved to be looked ,maybe just because you dont like him or have something personal against him, you wont see me rant for any list of the eagles

I am not here for my favorite player just like you and majority of others, i am here to support super eagles, the earlier you get that into your brain the better for you.

If you are being paid to troll or hate a player then keep it up
