Its not Nairaland that led to his arrest. If you read the full report, you will see that he has been under surveillance.
I was just confused how nairaland comes into play here.

Its not Nairaland that led to his arrest. If you read the full report, you will see that he has been under surveillance. His fraudulent dealing with Unatrac got him exposed, not his Nairaland post.
Nairaland was the breakthrough.

If you don't think his Nairaland post holds any relevance to his capture I can tell you you are bound to make the same mistake.

Nigerians in the news for the wrong reasons. First it was FIFA banning Siasia for life and now Mr. Okeke.
Dear Nigerians, whatever you are doing, always stick to the right side of the law to avoid been an embarrassment.

Can't you see his email address?

That email address was linked to some suspicious sites and transactions.
Re: Invictus Obi: Nairaland Post That Led FBI To Arrest Obinwanne Okeke by Duggedised12(f):
Nairaland was not the reason he was caught but his sloppiness on the internet, all his accounts were linked even up to his nairaland mail . His identity was never masked, even without niaraland ,his IG ,facebook and gmail already gave him out ,enough of all this nonsense talk.

For a guy that was able to pull such, leaving a trail behind was very dumb, but hey as the saying goes 'everyday for thief ,one day for the owner of the house". Goodmorning nairalanders!

This is the 2012 quote that helped FBI Agents arrest suspected scammer Obinwanne Okeke. He posted the reply September 26, 2012 in the hope that it will link him with some Nigerians in Melbone, Australia where he was susposedly studying.

You are a mod and shouldn't involve yourself with such matters. Those who live in glass houses don't throw stones.

I can't make the same mistake because I am not fraudulent like him. The only social media that was mentioned was Instagram. I don't know how Nairaland came into the picture
