The idea of acquiring significant portions of land in every state of the federation and make the property of cattle herders in Nigeria has generated a lot of uproar since it was aired by the government. The agenda has been packaged under different guises such as cattle colonies and now RUGA. People have passionately raised their voices against the idea while some people too, especially those in government have made attempts to sell the idea to the populace. In a situation like this, it is imperative to borrow wisdom from the age old proverb that says, " the crab protects it's head by using it's eyes". This simply means that the ability to see danger from afar is vital if you want to keep your head on your neck.
To this end , it is imperative that we critically examine what this plan portends and see whether it is an harbinger of boom or doom. Maybe our fears are unfounded after all. Here are my thoughts. Feel free to add yours.
1. The cattle products become cheaper and more affordable. If the cows and cattle are brought down south as planned, it will naturally lead to large supply of cattle products such as beef, milk, wara, fura bad the likes. People like me who love those things will definitely be glad.

2. Gradual massacre of the host communities. It is a well know antecedent of the Fulani tribe to arrive a community like humble, harmless settlers, only to start gradually killing the people of their host communities in a systematic ethnic cleaning campaign. Before their hosts wake up to the reality, the settlers herders would have become the majority in the land and they would have systemically gained a lot of power over their hosts.

3. Sharia Law. One of the ambitions of the present administration is to establish Sharia Law in all the states of Nigeria. If RUGA or any of it's guises is implemented, it can serve as an excuse for the Islamazation cabal to demand for Sharia law since most Fulani's are believed to be Muslims. They may use the excuse that they want Sharia Law only for their settlements. Anything can happen from that moment.

4. Nigeria can no more break up. Nigeria is a complex merger of large ethnic groups who had their ntions before the British colonialists merger us to make it easy for them to rule. Since the British left our shores, some unseen forces seem bent keeping these diverse people together even when history of more that a hundred years have failed to removed our glaring differences. If Fulani's are allowed to settle enmass and become indigenes of the south, splitting this British creation may be difficult because the Fulani's will not want to go/stay with other tribes in such a creation. RUGA might therefore be a subtle ploy to make it impossible for Nigeria to split.

5. Every Hausa Fulani becomes indegene of every state. Since the cattle herders a mainly of Hausa/Fulani extraction and their is no ID card to identify state of origin, any Hausa/Fulani can claim citizenship of any state they wish to derive any benefit from. This can be employed when they want to influence the affairs of that state especially for elections or census.
6. Hausa/Fulani governor's , senators, etc in the host states. This is fairly straight forward if you read the previous points.
There you have it. Things that can happen if RUGA is implemented. What do you think?

First, government is not sequestering any land for private venture, and Fulani and Muslims are not the only ones who rear cattle.

In fact, Fulani knows nothing about ranching and ranching will kill them off and only those educated in Cattlelism will flourish!

Are you sure? Which other tribe rears cows in Nigeria other than Hausa/Fulani?

Hmnnn. Yorubas into cattle rearing? I guess it's the ranching/farm type that you are referring to. And that is what the Fulani's should also embrace. Normadic cattle rearing is for 18th century Nigeria. It doesn't fit the present age. And events have proven it so.
