Labour, FG Meet Today On Minimum Wage by Mrakeli: 4:29am On Aug 23, 2019
Organised labour and the Federal Government will on Friday (today) resume negotiation over the implementation of the new minimum wage of N30,000.

Labour, through the Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council, has been negotiating with the Federal Government since June 6, 2019.

The Secretary of the Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council, Alade Lawal, in an exclusive interview with our correspondent, said labour was optimistic that the meeting would spell a new direction towards ending the controversy surrounding negotiation.

He said, “We are hoping that we can see the end of the problems surrounding negotiation. We also call on workers to be patient.”

Anyone expecting something good from this government is just wasting his time. The best u can do is to double ur hustle. This country is long gone and with Buhari as the president and the conglomerate of thieves called ministers, then no hope at all. The minimum wage is just to divert our attention just to think this government is working. Minimum wage can only be implemented probably 3 months to the expiration of this government. That's the card on ground. U believe these bastards at ur own peril

Government snow balling on this minimum wage issue has help shift the mind of wicked market traders from their plan to hike price of goods and services. What will happen when it is implemented, I don't know?. I expect a hike nevertheless.

The reasons for all these delays are not far fetched. The governments from federal, states and local are just not ready to implement what seemed to be a decision taken by force asides from the ability especially from some of the states to implement.

Nothing of what you have described is happening under Buhari. grin

Criminal politicians, criminal Labour, the insincerity on the part of Labour is what is causing this logjam. They keeping telling us about 30k minimum wage but they have refused to tell us what level 17 officers are earning. Should government yield to their demand, 100 percent of our earnings would be use to pay political office holders and civil servants. No one is talking of the unemployed and the physically challenged.
A level 17 officers in states like Delta are earning above 500k already, but they want to Jack up their salary to a million naira all in the name of minimum wage. Wicked people. Sadly, many of these civil servants are empty headed, they got into the service through the help of criminal politicians. They do nothing in their offices, but they want higher pay. The government must down size the civil service now, they must not yield to the blackmail and wicked propaganda of Labour.

I will like to use this opportunity to congratulate the new flexers in town, 4 good years to flex the National cake.
if you believe this government, you are at your own risk, a government Lead by an old confused man with faded integrity, with rubber Stamp National Assembly and most ministers are mere compensation and reward for the success of Mr. ministers President.

If you don't know something why not keep quiet. In civil service there is what is called salary structure, as you rise in level and grade so does your salary. If the minimum wage was increase by 66% to it current state of 30k it is according to the law that it be increase close to or the same % across all level. Salary increment is for everyone. Don't forget that the 500k you are talking about use to be around $3.500, now it not even up to $2,000. Please try and educate yourself on this things this is why government is still using us to play in this country. They know so many Nigerian know nothing. If the President and senatos can earn hardship allowances how much the common man

every four years the national assembly members will get new prado suvs but the common man can't get ordinary minimum wage and when igbos do the needful the people who suffer the most will become the defenders of the politicians.
this is simply because the igbos have an ideology entirely different from the that of the rest of Nigerians.
