Holy communion is barbaric, no true Christian should partake in it.
Anyone who takes holy communion is no different from the cannibals at Ebem Ohafia and Obingwa.

Of all the things you'd want to eat, why eat the flesh and blood of our Saviour?
Are you for real?
What happened where He said; Take this and eat, this is my body
Take this and drink, this is my blood.

Lol. Joke of the century.

In 2015, I was invited to a church by a girl. Coincidentally, they were having hoe-ly communion that day. The pastor mentioned that if you are not baptized and confirmed in their church, you should not take the communion.

As a heathen, I was neither baptized or confirmed in the church, but I stepped forward and took the communion.

The bread was tasteless, but the red wine was good. I would have gone for a second round of the wine, but the ushers separated those that had taken from those that had not.

Lol. Fun memories.

I just pity people like you that takes everything for a joke

Don't pity me, my dear. I have no life and no soul.

By the way, I'm looking for a God fearing girlfriend, if you are pretty, send me a DM, let's talk.

So the Pentecostals have finally accepted Holy Communion after so many condemnation? grin

You guys will keep evolving in the Catholic way unknowingly.

Holy Communion is for Baptized Christians who are in the state of grace.
Pentecostal churches have been receiving holy communion since i was born. By the way Christ instituted the holy communion not the Catholic church. Finally, whether catholic or pentecostal, if you are not saved you wont see God. Above all, denomination is not recognised in heaven.

What they practice in the pentecostal church is not Holy communion, they have no priests and only a priest can offer sacrifices undecided

Can you show me where in the bible this is stated? I need a verse not some conjured doctrines. I'm a catholic but I'm not blinded by some doctrines. I base my catholic faith on what is stated in the bible. It is the same way I don't buy into the idea of confession as practiced by the catholic church. My bible say I can access God directly...

YES IF IT'S BY PERFECTION AND WORTHINESS, NO LIVING HUMAN BEING IS QUALIFIED TO TAKE HOLY COMMUNION.
chrisxxx:
I am a Christian, baptized but I found myself unworthy to take communion. I may not.be correct of my self assessment.
If one must be a near saint to take it I consider myself some distance away from sainthood.
It is not possible to be a Christian in Nigeria. The influences everyday is overwhelmingly. We can all lie to one another no problem. But telling lies to oneself is the most damaging of all.
True Christians are few in Nigeria. You can't be a G.O. with millions of Pounds and Dollars in your account in the the midst of pauperised followers and claim Christianity. Any G.O that has an account does not believe in the second coming of Christ. He does not believe that heaven is his destination and earth a temporary place. In that case he falls within those not qualified to take communion like myself.
I rest my case.

Stop deceiving yourself, that you were probably born in a catholic home doesn't make you a catholic. From your comment right here, my brother, you are not a practising Catholic. You're just a catholic follower.

Go back to your catechism and read the church's teachings on the Eucharist. That you still don't believe in the idea of confession speaks volume.
What did Jesus mean when he said to his apostles that "...for those whose sins you forgive they are forgiven"? — that is where the idea of confessing to a priest began.

"Unless you eat of the flesh of the son of man, and drink of his blood, ye shall have no life in you, for my flesh is food indeed and my blood is drink."
Take this all of you and eat of it for this is my body which will be given up for you. When the supper was ended, he took the cup filled with wine and said " take this all of you and drink of it for this is my blood which will be shed for you".
DO NOT EAT OR DRINK UNWORTHILY!!!!!

You are not the last of your kind... I have one of you in the house but one thing I do let her understand is that the faith is 85% true if I may say but Catholics who practice this faith are just 10% true...

Truth though is that in the early years of the Pentecostal faith, at least in Nigeria that I know of, Pentecostal churches didn't practice communion. I remember how as a child, many years ago, Catholics in my class were taunted by Pentecostals about communion. You can ask your Pastor when it commenced in your church, there's nothing wrong with knowing these facts about your church. After all aren't we all Christians, as we say?

Another is about written short prayers. I know how much Pentecostals mocked Catholics for reading out short prayers, say how can it be a personal interaction with God if you're just reading literature written by someone else? Over the past 15, 20 years or so, we've now seen Pentecostal devotionals include short prayers too. At first they called them different names, like reflection or something else, now they're written 'Prayer' clearly.

Again, how some Pentecostals mock Catholics for asking the Saints to pray for them. But several Pentecostal pastors believe in Saints and quote some of them in their preachings. And we all know the Bible supports asking our neighbours to pray for us, so the Catholic angle is if intercessions from us, mere people still struggling for grace will help, how much more people who are believed to have reached the ultimate destination?

Why do Pentecostals celebrate Good Friday, Easter and other not-fixed days the days Catholics do? Do you know how those dates are arrived at? It's counting, my friends. In a couple of weeks, we'll enter the Advent season (also marking the beginning of a new church year), count a few days from Advent, we'll enter ordinary time of the year, a stipulated number of weeks after that, we enter Lent, 40 days after that we celebrate Easter, I think 6 weeks after that is Pentecost, then a few weeks after we enter ordinary time of the year and count a marked number of days again. And the cycle continues.

Every denomination has their grey areas, I was born a Catholic but still trying to understand a few of the doctrines. But truth is that most of what Pentecostals churches criticize the Catholic church about, they are beginning to practice and coating them so that it's not so obvious they are.

This isn't bad, there is only one church. That is the goal.
And at the end, doctrines and practices don't make us heaven, it's our souls, the purity of our hearts.

We should aim to be better Christians, that's what the Church is meant to do for us. Let's be more Christian than just our denominations.

shocked na me write this epistle?

You are lacking depth

Communion literally means "sharing." It's breaking bread together. The word "communion" comes from King James Bible translation of the Greek word for. "sharing" which Paul used in describing the taking of bread and wine as the body and blood of Christ.

I would rather be known as a Christian than as a Catholic believer. So many of you are following Catholic and not Christ. When I have kids, the first thing i will teach them is being a catholic and being a Christian are two different things, choose the latter. God bless my father for teaching us this. If I may ask, does following Catholic make me go to heaven or being a Christian saved by Jesus make me go to heaven? Shalom

Most of the things you wrote here are based on an encounter with someone attending a Pentecostal Church not a Pentacostal doctrine. The major issue Pentacostal have with Catholic were not even pointed out in your write up.

E.g The issue of "holy Mary pray for us" and "bowing to Jesus statue "
