Ibrahim Muhammad, chief justice of Nigeria, says he is not leaving any stone unturned towards ensuring speedy justice dispensation so as to tame corruption in the judiciary. He made this known during opening ceremony of the 2019 edition of the Nigerian Bar Association annual general conference,

According to Muhammad, the judiciary under his watch will never be subservient to anybody. He added that his focus had been how to reform processes of the judiciary and to provide speedy administration of justice.

“Since my appointment as the chief justice, my focus has been on reinventing our processes, providing speedy and quality administration of justice, strengthening our structures from the supreme court to other courts of records and stamping out corruption from the system,” he said.

“For the judiciary, under our watch, I can assure you that, by the grace of God, the future looks bright.
“By the grace of Almighty God, I will tenaciously hold onto that even until that very moment of my last breath on earth.

“Let me sure this assembly, we don’t look at anybody’s face or feelings before making our decisions.“If there is any deity to be feared, that deity is the Almighty God. We will never be subservient to anybody, no matter how highly placed.”

He noted that lawyers need to follow due processes, saying the apex court would not spare abusers of the court processes.

“In the 2018 case of Akeredolu vs Abraham, the Supreme Court said, ‘technicality in the administration of justice shuts out justice.’…It is therefore better to have a case heard and determined on its merit than to leave the court with the shield of victory obtained on mere technicality.”

"...The Supreme Court had even laid a precedent that says the Court should not use procedural inanities to subvert the legal merit of cases.

The Supreme Court didn’t even evaluate Adeleke’s weighty, water-tight case against Oyetola; it ruled against Adeleke just because one of the panelists on the election tribunal that had restored Adeleke’s stolen mandate was absent on one day during the trial.

Just like Ahmed Lawan was boasting that the Senate under him will not be a rubberstamp, the CJN is not only a tool but also fool cum stooge glorifying his stupidity.

Imagine the first administration of justice this man carry out as the no-1 arbiter is to dismiss a sensitive case as the fraudulent Osun rerun election on basis of technically over merit? angry

Someone hearing this will think the judiciary is a serious one.

Is it not the same judiciary that's like a rubber stamp?

The judiciary that sacked Dino Melaye with the nonsense insistence that the results were collated in Lokoja instead of Kabba. Pray tell me where the DSP Omo-agege's result was collated?

The CJN should go and sleep. He should go and "drive" aeroplane.
