Not sure of trusted brand but can recommend US brand like Simphily

That battery commands some serious blocks. Fantastic battery and brand

Good afternoon. Pls experts in the house should weigh in on this:
Hoppecke or Quanta or Monbat

From your experience, which is the best amongst the three batteries? Thank you.

These three makes are awesome. I prefer Quanta as it is one I've seen in action that survived some near fatal usage grin

How would you rate Gacia and Mercury batteries?

I'll rate Gacia above Mercury. This is purely based on the performance of the two that I witnessed, though under different conditions. So, it may just be a biased opinion. But the truth is, I wouldn't buy a Mercury battery.

That's good to know...
I was eyeing Quanta but might settle for Gacia since my setup is kinda temporary for now

1) Power inverter has no inbuilt solar charge controller, whilst solar inverter has an inbuilt solar charge regulator.

2) You can't connect power inverter to solar panels but can connect solar Inverter directly to solar panels as an alternate
battery charging source ceteris paribus.

3) Yes it totally depends on the hybrid spec/brand , application etc .. we mostly use hybrid _ battery designs for night time functionality reasons ! Hope this helps ? Cheer's

Yes it does. Thank you.

Follow up questions:

1. What is the difference between a solar inverter and a hybrid inverter.
2. So are you saying that there is a design of hybrid inverter that one can connect solar panels to directly without batteries, and it will change the DC to AC, and power one's loads during the day?
3. If (2) above exists, can one also connect it to batteries, but decide not to use the batteries at all during the day, but rather use the inverted dc directly from the solar panels, while battery is charging for night storage use?

Thanks in anticipation.

In response to 2 and 3
Many inverter can do it. Axpert can do both at cheaper cost . Search PIP5048GK or PIP3024GK, PIP5048MG and PIP3024MG

Google can answer no 1 better. I'm equally lost in the various context people use hybrid.

nope i meant mppt, though i mixed it up its 800w for 60amp mppt CC, thus u can load upto 1200w or so, based on losses and panel efficiency, as max you can get from an array is about 8o%
Thanks.

Sorry bro. I think the professional installers (experts) on here will do a better job of explaining to you. That's cos I'm not an installer.

Our voltage in Nigeria is around 220v so 1.054A X 220V will give you about 230w shocked

But if you calculate with 110v it will be 115w

Na box TV? shocked
grin

You're welcome Sir,

A) They are apparently synonymous !
B) Yes see link below for a grid tied system which doesn't need battery bank to be operational if budget isn't an issue:

Grid-tie Inverters that doesn't use battery , solar edge 5kw inverter N290,000

https://www.solaredge.com/products/pv-inverter/single-phase
C) Grid tied option was replied above for num 2 question but we have hybrid systems also that has this functionality in makes like >> SMA , Growatts, Fronius , axpert etc

Along the track of this; How about NXT Index batteries. Any one with experience with them.

There are a lot of batteries with NXT label, but if it is Exide NXT, I'll say the battery is heavier than other batteries of same capacity. I guess they used a thicker plate which is often an indication of a better quality. I have seen one kicking strong after three years of 24/7 use.

every typical roof have ridges and gutters. the nail that attach d roof to rafter is on d ridges. from experience, when installing, never punch gutter, that is d water way. infact as for me when installing, I try to use d already roof nail punch. even with that i don't forget as precaution to put flashbar before and after my nail as sealant. nagode

in addition, you can also use silicone sealant to seal where you make the holes...

I have never seen or used the brown carton Quanta - just pictures here on NL.

The batteries from the hitherto main importer come in the white carton - again the batteries are genuine not because of the color of carton or any numbers or codes written on them but rather because they come straight from the original manufacturer plant. This is the test of genuineness - an unbroken chain verified from manufacturer to your source of purchase.

For this reason I never buy from any reseller even in times of scarcity but rather go straight to the source.

Please can you hook me up with the source ?
