You just a learner, for Chad President to ruling Chad for that long makes Chad politically stable to Nigeria. Same reasons the US will trust their asset in the hands of Saudi Arabia with poor record of human Rights than Nigeria. Nigeria has shown stable democracy since 1999 untill Pres. Buhari came on board then things change hence the change of European and US towards Nigeria, as shown in the G7. In 2023 another person will be president of Nigeria and might better or worse than Buhari, the uncertainty is enough for an organization not to invite Nigeria. while you watch NTA also try to watch CNN & Aljazeera to understand international politics. Wikipedia & google is for history & reminders. promoted
BluntBoy:

First of all, let us talk about the Chadian president. He is Idriss Deby. He has been president since 1990. The Economist calls him a despot.

Who is a despot? According to Wikipedia, a despot is "a ruler or other person who holds absolute power..."

This means that Idriss Deby does not even need to defy court orders since no court can even contest his powers in the first place.

Recently, Idriss Deby promoted a law that would allow him remain in power till 2033. When people protested, he banned social media for a year.

Under this man, Chad has remained one of the poorest countries in the world year in year out. It is also one of the most corrupt countries in the world.

Political stability in Chad is a scam since only one man has been ruling since 1990. And his name is Idriss Deby.

Yet, this power-drunk despot was invited to the G-7 summit in 2016.

Now, let us talk about Buhari's defying court orders.

In 2015, Buhari defied court orders to release Dasuki.

In 2016, he defied court orders to release Ibrahim El Zakzaky.

How come he was still invited to the G-7 summit in 2017?

You obviously don't know the meaning of political stability.

You think of it only based on stability of a regime. In other words, even if the Buhari you hate so much continued to rule forever against the wish of the people, it would mean political stability to you.

Again, you wrote that we enjoyed political stability until Buhari came.

How so?

Obasanjo had a constitutional limit of 8 years. We had Yar'Adua who unfortunately died in office. Then, we had GEJ who lost out in 2015 in his attempt to seek reelection.

So, I don't understand what you meant by Buhari disrupting our political stability.

As for foreign relations, you should know that a country would only enter into a profitable relationship, without recourse for how the host fairs.

During the Civil War, countries entered into relationships with Nigeria because they had weapons to sell. No government cared whether Nigerians finished themselves up.

So, the USA would only pick Saudi Arabia over Nigeria if they could secure a great bargain from the relationship.

Moreover, the best countries in the world have change of governments every 4 or 5 years, including the USA. So, I don't see why you should castigate Nigeria for having constitutional change of governments and praise Chad for frowning against change of governments.

You are just a hypocrite who wants to find fault with the president at all cost, even at the cost of supporting human rights abuses in Chad.

You seem to lack basic understanding of issues and choose to reply points that suits you. However, from your comments, Chad is political stable than Nigeria, reason being a president has been ruling for long. Nigeria is not politically currently, why? a president came in and stop obeying the rule of law. It is even better to influence the court judgement secretly than to reject court judgement openly. Saudi has poor record of human rights compared to Nigeria but it is still politically stable than Nigeria. Nigeria does not even know what is practising, whether democracy or Autocracy. Please Nigeria is not a world power that mess up and still be accommodated immediately. Please watch Aljazeera more, to see a better view of international politics. Please note that Chadian solders are into a lot of positive International terrorism fight from Nigeria to Somali.

What is happening in the United States presently.

Trump has shown many times that he would defy court orders that he doesn't like. Remember the travel ban and how government agencies blatantly disobeyed Supreme court orders.

Now, Trump is hell-bent on disobeying court orders concerning the Census.

You say Saudi Arabia is more politically stable than Nigeria? Where are the statistics?

That the people in Saudi Arabia are incapable of overthrowing their government because they think of their rulers as Allah's servants does not mean that they are politically stable than Nigeria.

You enjoy a lot of freedom in Nigeria, that is why we are even having this conversation. They don't even enjoy this freedom in Chad, and yet you are rating Chad over Nigeria in terms of political stability.

While political stability can entail stagnancy, stagnancy doesn't tell the whole story.

Bro, you have no point. You have run from pillar to post in your bid to make a big deal out of why Buhari was not invited to this year's G-7 summit.

I can't believe that you would be so desperate as to support the totalitarian government of Deby in Chad.

You hate Buhari so much, but it is obvious that it is for no reason. Because if you claim that you hate him because he defies court orders, then why do you defend Deby who is a despot? Buhari has not even done half of the human rights abuses that Deby has done, and yet you are shamelessly making a case for Deby.

Imagine Buhari banning social media the way Deby did in Chad. Would we even be having this conversation in peace?

MelesZenawi:
MOGHALU MAKES IGNORANCE FASHIONABLE

Kingsley Moghalu is either ignorant or playing petty politics. The non-invitation of President Buhari to witness the G7 meeting this year is not a snub.

Neither does it diminish the status of Nigeria as the biggest economy on the continent. It seems no one clarified to the one-time Presidential Candidate how the G7 secretariat works. If they invite a country with an economy the size of Niger State, not Kano’s, not even Lagos’s does it call for Dr. Moghalu’s lamentation? Today, as we see it, they call this country, tomorrow they decide to have another. It’s entirely up to them.

Buhari didn’t go to Europe. Europe came to him in Japan, where the EU had him sign an MOU for 50 Million Euro in support to the country’s devastated North East.

The joke is not on President Buhari. The joke is on Moghalu for attempting to make ignorance fashionable.

The biggest trade partners of the USA is the European Union. If you lump them together, rather than treat the countries in the EU separately, Nigeria would be among the top 30 biggest trade partners of the United States.

And mind you, when I mentioned trade partners, I had described Nigeria as an African superpower, and I was regarding Nigeria as a big American trade partner based on that, and not generally.

Africa does a lot of importation and that makes the continent home to a lot of Asian, European and American goods. Nigeria has the biggest population which has the potential to overtake the USA in a matter of decades.

So, any industrialized country cannot afford to joke with Africa, and because Nigeria has the population, a large market of buyers for these foreign goods, no country can afford to sideline Nigeria now or in the future.

Smh.

I began by stating that Nigeria is an African superpower. I then went on to talk about Africa's place in world's commerce by covertly asserting to its abundance of natural resources and its large markets for foreign goods.

All these was said before I even mentioned Nigeria as one of America's main trade partners.

It is not my fault if you missed comprehension classes in school. You ought to know that when I said Nigeria was an African superpower, the rest of the paragraph would grow out of that.

When you answer comprehension passages, do you get the main points from the last sentence of the specific paragraph?
