I beg to disagree,camphor(camphorene) is a chemical compound derived from plants with sweet smelling odour used as ornaments/spices in some cultures while naphthalene is a chemical used as mothballs/pesticides derived from aromatic compounds.

Don't know if I spelt it correctly tho),metholator should be avoided in newborn. All linked to jaundice in newborn.

Camphor is not naphthalene. Naphthalene is a simpler 2-ring polyaromatic hydrocarbon while camphor is more a complex compound. Though both are very volatile and used as insect repellant s. Human body has a system of transforming naphthalene to non-toxic byproducts but sometimes carcinogenic byproducts can be formed. Similar enzymatic systems are used for camphor detoxification. I am not sure about the connection between camphor and jaundice. A search on Google could help.
