darkelf:Just like FIFA ranking, those above them have already accumulated a lot of points in the past. so winning the UCL won't just close the gap. They need to continue at the top and rack up more points to close the gap. |

TheSuperNerd:Mikel wasn't the best we had Nerdy. Its not about negatives. Its the truth nobody choose to admit because we looked to his past glories. Aribo would have done better than Mikel as a CM at the AFCON. I would've even taken Ebere Eze in place of Mikel. Mikel was invited on pure sentiments. He wasn't even the best or most important player in his championship team. |

timay:Still, eight is too low for a club their status. They should be in top 5 at least |

Wow. Ghana made it. And CIV overturned that 1st leg result against Guinea. Interesting. Indeed the U-23 Afcon proper will be bloody oooo... Meanwhile we won 5-1 on aggregate not 5-0. Icon4s: |

I am talking of the years before AFCON 2019 and not just AFCON 2019. The post you quoted had a message you just didn't decode. There was a time it was said, "Mikel had no replacement" and truly he was the best at what he does then. But now... the pendulum shifts to Iwobi. It is his era now. darkelf: |

TheSuperNerd:By the "years", I take it that you mean 2013-2017. Because after then, he declined rapidly |

Just accept you never got the core of that post. It would have helped if you did. Meanwhile, any more doom messages for us after yesterday's 2-2 draw as we go forward? ![]() darkelf: |

TheSuperNerd:Thanks jare. The 5:0 was so sweet so tay I forgot say we ever lost 1:0 to that crap Sudanese team ![]() CIV in particular really shocked me. This was a Guinean side that eliminated Senegal 3:2 on aggregate and had gotten a 1:0 win in Abidjan! As for Ghana I saw it as a 50:50 situation. Playing the games during the FIFA break really gave opportunity to the West African power houses to get their foreign based players. But now where the problem is is I don't think the tournament falls within the FIFA window. This would have been a beautiful tournament to watch if all teams that can have their best possible U23 players. Looking at those 8 teams I cannot even point out who are the favorites. Na war we dey go so o ![]() |

Prectega:Taking off an AM like Iwobi to bring on a DM like Esiti to defend a slim 2:0 lead for thirty minutes wasn't a smart decision at all. |

mostob:The CAF U23 Nation Cup will hold in Egypt from 8-22 November, 2019. There is actually a FIFA free window around that time in November but the tournament if for 2weeks and this may be a challenge for players release. ![]() |

Progression is when your u17 lads from just 2 years ago are playing starting roles for their senior team and clubs today. Osimhen and Chukwueze are products of a successful system. |

ChrisKels:My bro I have read and still not gotten what you are saying. If I say what Zinchenko lacks in skills, he makes up with intelligent passes. Am I saying Zinchenko is not skillful? Or has zero skills? It means Zinchenko is skillful but not perfect at it but uses passing to make up. Same way with Osimhen lacks with power but makes up with hard work and runs. Not that he lacks power which charlesemeka85 thought I said. |

ChrisKels:And you can not use height because it is not a quality in that respect. What he lacks in power, meaning inside power, there are things he is lacking. Not the total absence of power. Inside skills, there are things lacking. Not a total absence of skills. Can we say inside height, there are things lacking? No. So Azubuike being short does not count. We can talk of him lacking in winning aerial duels and make up with reading winning the second balls. |

TheGoodJoe:Yes bro, quote me anywhere, it means Zinchenko isn't skillful but gets bailed by his intelligence. That phrase "what he lacks in...", is a negative statement that gives the sense of the weakness of somebody/something. When u say "what Zinchenko lacks in skill, he makes up in intelligence", u are basically and emphatically saying that Zinchenko is rather intelligent than skillful. Not that he is a bit skillful and super intelligent, as u trynna imply This isn't worthy of an argument, just consult ur GST101, or better yet Google it. |

I concur on the invite for Ramon. Just imagine Ramon replacing Iwobi yesterday. We would not have suffered that sudden imbalance. Ramon Azeez is MOST definitely miles ahead of Anderson Esiti. Please na Ramon we wan dey see for invites now. No more Esiti. He can carry his 'World's most physical" title back to Greece to compete with the Olympic gods and Titans. Nonsense!! forgiveness: |
